Use both. Orbs/dust tend to show up on digital cameras which is a pain but they are fast, easy to use and you can quickly check your results. For good orb/dust free pictures SLRs are best.

If you want to capture ghosts using a camera, It's best to have the flash on, Ghosts need a light sauce to bounce off the surface of there exterior, an example of this is the moon, You would not be able to see the moon if the light from the sun didn't reflect of it's surface, Ghosts need a light sauce. The sun is too bright usually turns them totally transparent because the light is going right through them instead of reflecting from there surface. This is also why you're able to see them better at night, The light from the moon is perfect to show them up. Because the moon isn't overpowering and just bounces gently off there surface. Cool

I suggest use both, sometimes u can still get orbs on camera's without flash, as there is natural light, But abit pointless in dark, without a flash..

I have tried experimenting with a strobe and normal camera haha

A gentle flash on a camera at night is perfect to reflect there form. Make sure it isn't too bright though, When i saw a ghost at my nans, I only saw the parts of there details that was being hit by the moonlight, And the side that was in darkness was totally transparent. I know alot about this. Iv'e been thinking about how it's only possible to see ghosts at night usually and very rare in the daylight, This is the most logical explanation. Although the photo i captured last week was in full daylight. But the shade from the trees above the figure darkened the light hitting it so were able to see the figure in daylight. Smile

Its best to use both formats, due to the digital camera not widely being trusted as it can be docted. The digital file has to be of high quality and must produce a digital negative" look up on google" and both the lense quality has to be high grade as well has the pixel quantity. If youre just taking pics for your own enjoyment, most digi cams are sufficient. Although for pro paranormal purposes these guidelines should be adeared too. As for film formats for paranormal use, Id consider black and white 400 asa high grade film. This produces a chemical negative and would pass the test with almost any parapsychologist. Plus these days you get the photo's on a disk too. As for orbes...These days high grade digi cameras don't suffer so much with dead pixelation problems. Ill tell you what ! there's an excelent piece on this subject in the Troy Taylers Ghost hunters guidebook. A MUST READ !! Hope that was of help friend. Very Happy

I thought orbs were dead. They're just dust or insects very close to the lens, quite often illuminated by the flash (but not always).

A dead pixle is something that the first digital camer's suffered from. Something to do with the camera missing bits from the upload of the picture at the moment of capture basicaly and poppin a white pixle in instead. As for orbes,Yes most captured and documented orbes are infact dust, light refraction etc. But some globular anomilys have been documented that apear to confuse scientists. Some have been caught on high speed cameras moving at around 500 mph , this was within a room. When you consider that a draft would not produce such a force and that the fastest flying insect can only move at ariung 35 mph ( an african dragon fly) then it gets interesting. So yes scientists do believe there are orbe anomilys, they just don't know what they are. Hope this helped.

Can you cite an example or two Iain, preferably with the testimony of the Scientist as I'd be very interested to see what reasons they're giving for being confused by an orb?.

I follow this subject very closely but as far as I'm aware, orbs are perfectly explainable by science. I've also worked as a product specialist for one of the Worlds biggest camera and electronic product manufacturers and orbs were investigated and satisfactorily explained several years ago.

Its not what the are orbes themselves which is prooven, its the fact that they excist. Ill have a look and try to find you examples on the nett, but I know there's a great piece on the subject in Troy Taylers ghost hunters guide. These things have been seen shooting acrocc roms at a very great rate of knots ! I did see a you tube excample once, Ill attempt to find it for you. My personal experiance is quite weird. I was sat in my kitchen, when a pure orbe like shape floated from under the table and into my chair ? It was a bit like a smoke filled ball about the size of a golf balls. thrashed my head, I hate it when something happens I can't explain.

Cheers Iain.

I agree completely - Orbs exist, of course they exist. My contention (based on investigation, evidence and experience) is that they are probably not manifestations of spirit energy.

YouTube videas aren't really valid evidence of anything apart from being YouTube videos Rolling Eyes

I saw a man levitate on a YouTube video the other week. We all know that man cannot levitate without some independent means of levitation - not on Earth anyway.

I've seen really weird things in the past - even things I thought at the time were ghosts but they weren't.
