This is a nice ghost-storie I found on the net!

At the time of this story, my son was just a little over 2 years old. He and his sister, who was just a baby, shared the nursery. This is the order of the room: coming into the room, straight ahead was a window, on the right side of the window was the baby's crib and on the left side was my son's toddler bed. Just to the right of the door was a closet. This room used to be used as storage only but when the baby was on the way, we transformed it into a nursery. From the very first night, my son would come to my bed crying about the closet. He said the "bad thing" was in there and it wanted him. I thought this was simply because he was used to being closer to me and not in a bedroom without me. After a week of this happening every night, I started taking him back to his bed and sitting with him until he went back to sleep. At first this was ok, but after about 3 nights he'd scream when I took him back and he'd want to go back out and he'd cry for me to get the baby, too, and bring her with us. This started me thinking about what was going on and I realized that he NEVER changed his story, as little ones usually do. It was always that there was a "bad thing" in his closet and that it "wanted" him. I sat him down and asked him about it and he just said that the "bad thing" wanted him to come in the closet. I asked him if he ever did go in there and he said, with his little two year face red from tears, "No Momma, if I did the bad thing wouldn't let me come back."

Now, having the experiences I have had all my life, I'm more inclined to believe stories like this than most parents. So, I moved both beds into the little alcove off my bedroom and we never used that room again. However, this isn't the end of the story. Maybe a month or so after this, I went through the house looking for my son - who was forever wondering into parts of the house and hiding, thinking it the funniest thing in the world to have Momma looking for him - and I saw that the nursery door was open. I went in and saw nothing but I could hear him giggle from the closet - the very same closet he was so terrified of only a month before. I opened the closet door and there my little boy sat in the floor of the closet with all of his little match box cars, having a grand time. I will admit to being a bit scared that he was in there, not to mention bumfuzzled. I picked him up and brought him to the living room and asked him why he was in the closet. He said he was playing. I said "I thought you were afraid of that closet?" He said "I was Momma, but the Good Man said he'd make the Bad Thing go away and he did. Only the Good Man is there now and he plays cars with me" and he just went right back into the closet and played for an hour or better. After that, he wanted to move his bed back and he played there all the time. Maybe 2 or 3 months later my aunt brought me some old photos of the family that she had found in her attic. My son was sitting on my lap and looking with us when we came to one of my Papaw he exclaimed, "Momma! There's the Good Man!! There's the man that made the Bad Thing go out of my closet!". My Papaw has been dead since my mom was only 13. This was the first time my son had ever seen a picture of him.

Glad to hear it had a happy ending!
How long did your son "see and play" with the Good Man (Papaw)?
