This event is the best ever we have been too.
OMG the things that happened at theis place was AMAZIN, from the start of the investigation at 8.30pm untill 5am- we were inundated with activity....
The Manor was built in the early 13th century and housed people untill 1990.. The only records that the place has is of a familly called OATWAY.
Legends has it that an Alexanda Oatway was Lord of the manor, but not in the way you would expect? He was a SMUGGLER! He had maids and servents and also let out rooms to people who were making their way to Devon and/or Cornwall.
His wife whos name we couldnt get died during child birth to their son William who later became lord of chambercome manor and also a smuggler...
We got a name Rebbecca, she was near to a wife Alexanda had after Williams mother died.
A young lady came to stay at Chambercombe Manor, for a few days as she was waiting for her uncle who lived in Plymouth to come and fetch her,. She was called Gemma a spanish girl. Alexandatook a shine to Gemma and used her well. Alexanda put Gemmas uncle off from collecting her for fear that she would tell him that 1 he was her lover 2 he was a smugler.
Rebbecca found out about the affair and ordered Alexanda to lock the girl in a room and there she starved to death.
Alexanda died therefore leaving William the Manor and the smuggling trade, he went on to have a daughter, life was bliss untill she met a man and moved to Ireland.
After many years Kate decided to visit her parents.
One morning William was woken early but a servant who told him about a boat that hit the rocks and that there was loot everywhere, he went to the beach and found a figure of a woman lying face down on the sand, when he turned her over all he saw was a smashed face.. He stole her belongings and took her back to the Manor to dispose of her body just incase she ade it through her injuries and could tell people who and what he did.
20 days after the ship wreck a telegramme arrived from Ireland it was from the daughter Kate.
William and his wife relized the young woman was infact their daughter and tryed to nurse her back to health!! She died.
William decided he needed to keep Kate a secret so he blocked her room up with bed furniture and Kate in it.
The secret room was only discovered 20 years ago, once the builders had looked at the plans they relized that another bedroom exsisted and broke down the wall, their findings were a bed, furniture and a skellinton of a woman in bed wearing a night gown.
On a seance in The Tudor room the team got to work and we managed to get hold of Alexanda nasty, srtong spirit who was trying to bully us into stopping. Gemma came to us through a tray we were using and answering YES and NO questions.
1. Do you need help?
"Yes"
2 Do you need to be freed from this house?
"Yes"
3. Do you need our help as a team?
"No"
4. Do you need individual help?
"Yes"
We went round they tray saying who were and if she need our help each time was "No" untill it got to me!!
I S**T my self and wanted to go home....!!!
Cutting a very already long story short after alot of shaking and crying, we managed to help Gema cross over to the spirit world and she is now no longer grouned at the Manor,
If you would like to know anymore or ask question please ask, Thanks for reading |

wow, interesting story, even more interesting find.
Wonder what was going through those construction workers minds when they found that room.
I'm curious, what makes you believe the person crossed over? |

Ilfracombe itself offers visitors a variety of activities, and there is a small beach to bathe from and a pretty harbour, whilst in Barnstaple there are restaurants and a leisure centre. Golf, fishing, sailing and riding area are all locally available. There are countless places of interest such as Exmoor Bird Gardens and Zoological Park, Arlington Court (NT), Watermouth Castle and Marwood Gardens. Boat trips to Lundy Island available where all manner of birdlife can be seen, as well as other wildlife such as seals and deer.
