About 18 months ago, I visited a site in Nottingham where new houses were being built.
My attention was drawn to a piece of waste land, where I could see an old Saxon village. In there stood a clump of trees, three or four thatched houses and a cooking couldron outside.
In my psychic vision, I could see a witch being burned on a post with her hands, having been tied behind her back.

Holly was used to make the fire at the base of the post.
When lit, spiralling smoke could be seen ascending upwards.

Has anyone herad of holly being used, and was it lit in a way to cause the smoke to spiral for a reason?

Yes..indeed.
I have been looking up 'Holly' on the Internet and there does seem to be a Druid connection. (Of course Druidism may have existed 1000 years before)

Holly, I believe stems from the word 'Holy'.

There is also a ritual of holly burning. Perhaps the clockwise smoke may have been significant to a clockwise rotation to heaven?

We shall never find out...it seems. Yet the area seems 'very heavy' at night and the girlfriend has reported cold spots creeping up her feet.

Are you sure what you see is not just a cliche from something you mnight have just seen on tv etc, because the dates would not match at all. Witches were not executed for many many years after the saxon period. And holly is burnt as a ritual for pagans and wiccans to represent a fresh start in which it is usually the 1st november now as we are following a different calendar to the original pagan times. And then it would only be fallen holly that is burnt. And heaven would not have anything to do.

Hello damaralenoire,

May I first of all apologise, if I read your post incorrectly regarding the weather phenomena?

Obviously you do not deem me mad, or else you would not be responding.

Now on to your post....

I have not seen this on TV. I cannot remember when the date was. The date that I posted this, was not the date I wrote it here. Perhaps if I added a link to when I wrote it elsewhere...it would also interest me when it was seen.

Ahhh.....so it WAS burnt as a ritual for witches...how interesting Very Happy

Fallen holly?
Yes...it was used as a fuel at the base of the post.

I can only think as heaven, if perhaps the executioners lit the fire, as to send the soul with the smoke spiralling upwards.

I do not know, and have your guidance on this.

What I will do, is trace the original posting to see when I saw it.

The visions are just like a person has a day dream. No actual pictures.
I hope I am not going to get repremanded for looking at the archive...

Leave it with me. Wink

if its holly to ward off evil then it follows they would use holly to get rid of the EVIL witch.

It's Yew. Another one well used in ridding an area of evil is Cytisus, or Broom. In faxt a Witches broom is usually made out of an ash shaft, with Cytisus for the sweepy bits (technical term Wink ) bound with willow bark.

it's still a tradition amongst some to have a traditional broom, or besom, above the entrance door.

not sure how it started tbh, the use of plants to ward off evil spirits is going to be of Pagan origins, yet most the cemetries are Christian. I'd say it's either caused by people who weren't fully converted, or Christianity carrying on a Pagan idea to appease the (at the time) pagan masses. Since then it's become tradition, a bit like Easter eggs, Misteltoe etc

I would do everything possible to avoid hemorrhoid surgery especially if it only happens when your bowel movements go south. Hemorrhoid operations are not a pleasant experience and it may cause more problems than solutions. Take a real good look at your diet, keep your blood flow running smoothly by avoiding sitting for too long. The right diet can make all of the differences in the world
