I've been scripting the Stirling GhostWalk for many years now. Most of the tales told within these performances are drawn fro local folklore and history.

A few of the tales are collected on a free PDF file here http://www.stirlingghostwalk.com/tales-from-the-stirling-ghostwalk-book.php

Now here's an oddity. Only a couple of weeks after I posted in this forum I was contacted by a publisher who invited me to write a short study of allegedly haunted sites or general ghost stories in the Stirling area.

As I mentioned previously I've been researching, scripting and performing the Stirling Ghostwalk for a good many years.

My area of (supposed) expertise lies firmly within the folk-record and mythology of the area, and with a few anomalous occurrences reported in sites of historical interest, such as Stirling Castle, the Darnley Coffee House, Tollbooth and Nicky-Tam's Bar and Bothy. While I have an open mind - I firmly believe in Charlie Fort's assertion that the truth is a circle beginning anywhere - I have no fixed and firm belief (or otherwise) in ghosts or spirits. I am, however, interested in objectively comparing the beliefs, opinions and experiences of those who do with local tradition and verifiable historical fact.

Site-history will be an important element in my book, but I'm extremely interested in seeking out more contemporary accounts, and would welcome any suggested areas of inquiry the members of this forum community might wish to proffer.

Work now completed, and a cover design approved - based on an old photo of the Erskine tomb and historic Old Town Jail (oddly enough amongst the few old sites in Stirling NOT believed to be haunted.

I won't post the ISBN, price or publisher - as I wouldn't want to break any rules about seld promotion. Anyone who interested can take a look in the shops around October.

And thanks to the forum members who e-mailed me. Anyone whose experiences have been related within the text will, of course, be sent a copy.
