English wasn't 'invented', season331. Like other languages and dialects, it evolved over time, with use. At basic level it is Anglo-Saxon, Latin and French based. But, being very 'fluid', it has absorbed words and phrases into from languages all round the world. Some retain their original form. Others have been 'Anglicised'. Which is what makes it so rich and diverse.
