A unique holiday in a haunted Château! The Holiday Movie Company will be running a film making experience holiday for novice film makers and beginners (but anyone is welcome) in the Luberon area of Provence, France from the 4th of June to the 18th of June 2011. As one of our guests you will use professional film making equipment and work with a professional actor, and a supporting amateur cast producing a ghost drama film, inspired by one of the works of M.R. James. You will get the chance to direct a set number of scenes from the screenplay, plus choose a role in the film crew (camera, sound recording, etc) and be coached by experienced film makers (ex BBC, etc). You will receive a copy of the finished film with your credits on it, plus you will receive a video and photos showing your contribution to the drama film. Our special guest art director will be Sir Simon Marsden, the world famous infrared photographer of all things spooky and bizarre, and TV presenter of Horror documentaries. See one of his websites here:

Places are very limited so book now to avoid disappointment! See our website for full details:

Due to customer feedback there are now two options for the holiday available to help you with the cost, plus not committing you to two weeks (unless that is what you want). The whole film will still take two weeks to shoot but we will split the production into two (one week each). Each week needs ten people to operate effectively, and each group of ten will produce one half of the total film. By coming for a week you will still be able to direct a set number of scenes, plus choose whatever rôle you want to do in the film crew (such as camera, sound, etc). Likewise you will still get the benefit of Sir Simon Marsden's guest appearance, which ever week you choose. All twenty guests will get credited on the final edited film. However, you can still do the whole two weeks if you wish. The new prices below are still for the filming activity only.
Prices:-
£1,350 for one week
£2,400 for two weeks, which is a discounted price (original cost was £2,800)
The prices of the accommodation at La Loubiere remain the same but obviously if you choose to stay for one week the price will be half the advertised cost. Therefore, to help give you an idea of the total expenditure, here are the approximate total additional costs of the holiday based on someone coming from Europe and using a budget airline (shared accommodation, sharing car hire, food/drinks (based on £28 a day), and air fare):
Circa £700 for one week (to add on to the price of the filming activity)
Circa £1,400 for two weeks (to add on to the price of the filming activity)
All of the above still needs to be added to our website, but will appear shortly!! |

The Holiday Movie Company is now planning the next film holiday which will either be based in the United Kingdom or France with a date yet to be announced. We will be shooting another ghost film from an original story, based around the Incas and Spanish Conquistadors. If you would like to join this holiday (as a director, camera operator, or whatever role takes your fancy) please contact us via our website.
Cheers
Simon from The Holiday Movie Company |

How do you come to that conclusion one wonders? We have more than enough company members to make these films many times over without anyone else, and they are not made to sell. We are offering a film making experience to those who have never made films before. Our guests make the film with coaching from us; it's their film with their credits. If our website doesn't make this clear then you need to see an optician rather urgently. |
