If you mean an intelligence that does not control what we recognise as a physical body, then unconditionally yes.

Where does that intelligence reside then Sharla?. In the ether?. Surely without a brain any intelligence is going to be a tough call ain't it?.

I don't believe that the brain is a storage medium for intelligence, rather that it serves only as an interface between a source of intelligence and the physical body.
You're making the classic error to which even scientists are often prone, in that you dismiss anything that cannot be explained by your own body of knowledge.
The fact that you cannot account for how a phenomenon can exist, does not mean that it cannot exist. To claim otherwise is to claim that you know everything.

That's the typical argument from ignorance Sharla and I'm surprised that you've fallen into that way of thinking so easily.
If you don't belive the Brian is a storage medium for our collective experiences then would you mind suggesting where is? - or don't you know that either?.

He is going to say the soul, in his own words, and then you are going to say that there is no proof we possess a soul, in your own words Wink

I think you've deliberately misunderstood and not for the first time. I am not arguing from ignorance, I am acknowledging that while there is much that isn't known, it is arrogant to dismiss possibilities that cannot be explained by man's current body of knowledge.

I'm not claiming to know where it is, only that unlimited anecdotal evidence suggests that it cannot be a part of the physical body, making it reasonable to accept the possibility that as beings our intelligence has a non-physical component.
To look at it another way, can it be reasonable to assume that an organ whose only certain function is to send and receive electrical signals, should have any storage-related function? I suspect that in future more-enlightened times, such an inference will be likened to the savage who saw a television screen for the first time, and became convinced that there had to be a man inside it.

If you care to second-guess people, its wise first to ensure that you're smarter than they are, then you'll never have to do it.

My comment was basically implying that the conversation was going to go nowhere, as the previous few comments from you had made your beliefs clear. I wasn't going to interject, but decided it would save time.

Also your above comment is basically a cowardly way of saying, 'I am smarter than you'. Read this:

Nobody says to a dog, “I’m smarter than you!”

Why not?

Because they know they are smarter.

Therefore, people only say, “I’m smarter than you!” when they know they are not.

So the next time someone says, “I’m smarter than you!” just smile and thank them for the compliment.

Very Happy Thanks
