Is it wrong to expect others to take my view? or can it be possible to attempt to have a informed view and oppinion without a full and indepth knowledge?
I think any reasonable person would take your views on board. Personally, I can agree with much of what you say in relation to the paranormal even though we may differ in some of our conclusions.
We grow in our understanding by learning, by experiences, by questioning and by healthy debate on forums such as this with both like minded individuals and others who may have polar opposite opinions and beliefs.
I learn as much from the people I disagree with as I do from those that share my views. I'm no expert by any means and as such I welcome any views that challenge (with facts and logic preferably  )
my opinions.

| Iain have you ever considered when running your events and tours - to run them like all normal ghost tours - just taking the people throught the location on a set route for a few hours and telling them all the horror history of the location and all the reported ghost and paranormal sightings that have happened there. But give them an insight what you do - the scientific type paranormal investigation. Then you just continue your own investigations in private/ or have an option for people to specifically go on an 'investigation tour'. Just a thought - this way you can do the real investigating, whenever you are not running the thrill tours - and everyones happy. |

| Good Idea but I realy don't relate to the scare tours, except the castleton one as this was requested by them. I'd rather stick to the serious side of the subject. Plus once I'd told everyone about the apparant hauntings, there would be enbedded belief structures in place and that would be bad. Thankyou for the thought though. |

Nope its not wrong to express your views, and give them your views, but its wrong to make them trust and beleive your views without documented evidence which proves your views. |

Well said.
Which is why we spend so much time attempting to collect such documented evidence.
But said evidence can only been taken at face value and what one person calls a ghost another may call the wind..which is why we have to be so strigent in our methods, clarity of evidence and findings and conclusions.
Without such carefull procedure I would not allow my self the luxury of a productive and informative point of view.
To judge without knowledge is foolish,
but to expect others to except blind oppinion is arrogant.
I see myself to be neither. |
