What truly scares you guys?
The one thing that makes your skin crawl or makes you cover your eyes and pull the blankets over your head.
Personally nothing scares me more than my own damn imagination.
Well, that and balloons. |

LOL! I love spiders. But my husband bought one that was quite dangerous, it was very poisonous and it was VERY FAST, it buried itself once and I totally freaked out. I was more scared for the cats than anything. Then we found it peeking out of the dirt and I made Graham take it back. LOL!
As far as ghosts go, I've only actually seen one. It was just the top of a head, it didn't really scare me so much. Everything else has been just stuff moving, strange noises, all that stuff. :) |

Islamofascists getting their hands on Pakistans nuclear arsenal but on a more paranormal footing - I'm the same as MailOrder and can scare myself with my own imagination.

My worst fear is something I've made up in my head is gunna be sitting there staring at me one day when I'm alone in my house.
I've even thought of how I'm gunna get away from said thing. LOL! |

Flossy,
The thing is, if I'm sitting where I think I'm sitting when I see the thing, I have absolutely no escape. It'll be blocking my only escape.
Maybe that's why I only think I'm gunna see it in that spot. LOL!
I've actually put things in my line of sight so I can't imagine seeing it.
Wow I sound like 7 flavors of crazy. |

Flossy, it's my damn brain. Working against me! *shakefist*
I've also imagined it crawling up to me and petting my knee. I'd try to describe it but.. words don't do it justice. LOL! |

Confining ourselves to the subject at hand, consider yourself on a lone investigation. You're in a usually-deserted environment but through which anyone may pass unexpectedly. This shouldn't be a problem except that you're engaged in certain activities of dubious legality. You may be illicitly installing vital equipment, while constantly looking around you despite the pitch darkness, knowing that you may have to take cover without warning. Your work may involve digging holes, laying cables or even sawing-down a row of obstructive trees, with nothing to drown-out the sound except the occasional passing vehicle.
I can do the above without the slightest anxiety, but contemplating it before or after the event is another thing entirely. |
