This topic is all about the story "Both Worlds". It was written by a woman called Susan Bond who tells you about her life. What makes this story interesting is the fact that she has always been able to see dead people, or spirit as she likes to call them.
She is currently writing her second book as the first only goes up to when she was 16.
As soon as I got the book in my hands, I straight away opened it up and started to read. I was particularly interested in this book as it's not every day you come across a true story about, well... ghosts. It took me two days to read the book, and although I may be a fast reader I also had college on both of these days. So basically, it's not a long read - if you want something easy and quick to read - Both Worlds is definitely your kind of book.
I find it amazing how Susan has been able to pack in so much about her life in so few pages without making you feel like you've been overloaded with too much information. You find yourself really getting into the story and you start to see from her eyes. I realised pretty quickly how much spirit helped her during her deprived upbringing, especially her guide, Michael.
I am not going to lie, at first I was a little skeptical, which is to be expected; It's a book about someone who grew up seeing ghosts. There is no way to sugar coat it - most of us will look at that and immediately assume it's not true. The human mind has a way of turning anything into a lie when they can't see the proof themselves; seeing is believing, right?
But having read this book I have to say, whilst I still have some questions and I'm not exactly a born again spiritualist, I found myself believing in her and her story. And I loved the fact that for once the aim of this story is not to scare you or make you sit there at night, huddled under blankets and cushions, trying to take your mind off the fact that there may be a gang of dead murderers waiting for you to drift off to sleep, but in fact to make you feel comfortable around spirit and the knowledge that there are beings we can't see around us all the time.
It's a refreshing change that an author, stripped of the "fiction" label is still able to deliver such an inspirational, whilst at the same time, entertaining book. She hasn't added the horror for entertainment value, she simply told it as it is and I found myself racing through the book, eager to turn each page.
I won't let on too much about the book as I really think it's something you should check out for yourself! Drop me a comment or an email, let me know what you thought of it? Or just get in touch with Susan yourself, I'm sure she'll appreciate the support.
If you are interested in spirituality, or challenging your beliefs, or if you just enjoy a good book, I definitely recommend you read this. It can be found at places like WHSmiths and Amazon as well as her own personal website. Check it out! Details are below

Thankyou!

Hi SA,

As a sceptic I'd like to ask what compelling evidence Susan can provide to support her
claims?.

Many thanks.

I have to say, after reading the book I still myself have some questions I would like to ask her. I still have some doubts. But I think what made me believe her more than I was expecting to was how she writes. I have also met her and it is obvious that she completely believes what she is saying. A lot of the supernatural occurances in her book usually happen around other people, meaning there are witnesses to back her claims. I find it hard to give you any hard evidence to support her claims as, just like every claim made concerning spirits and the afterlife it's hard to prove - how do you prove you saw a ghost? Like I have said, seeing is believing. I understand what you are asking and if I'm honest, the lack of solid, scientific evidence is why I am still not 100% convinced. But then, I guess that's humanity for you!
The only thing I can suggest is that you read the book with an open mind and see what you think. I'd certainly be interested to see whether the book changes your opinions or not! :)

Thanks SA.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - in other words, is it more likely that the person making the extraordinary claim is
deceived or that the claim is true?. The two can be weighed up - extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. This is very important but so often dismissed.
What tends to happen instead is that extraordinary claims lead to extraordinary conviction. We tend to think that the depth of our personal experience of the extraordinary
thing in question (in this case visitation by dead people) is evidence of the veracity of the claim. But really, it isn't: it's just evidence of how much we are prepared to believe in something
without proof.
Put quite simply, what can be asserted without evidence, can also be dismissed without evidence.
If seeing were really believing then thousands of people would believe illusionists can levitate, saw people in half, make the Statue of Liberty vanish and read minds.

DB,
Whilst I do agree with what you're saying I also feel that if these claims were to have evidence to support them they would not longer be so extraordinary? The controversial nature of this topic is what makes a martket for books like these, I do feel it's the very point you're making that gives people the incentive to purchase and read this book. I know I, personally love reading books like this, not to find hard evidence but purely to see both sides of an ongoing debate about a subject that for once humanity can not simply answer with a few words and scientific facts. I do thankyou for your interest in my topic though, it's nice to see someone has taken an interest!

Flossy, Indeed it does say this but it is simply to cover herself. All mediums etc, must have something along these lines on their website otherwise they would not be granted insurance. You will notice the disclaimers also like "You are responsible for your own life choices and decision making". I'm afraid it's just the world we live in, everyone loves to sue and Susan is simply covering herself legally. Please do not let it put you off!
