Fair comment. I have no objections to the stage show psychics and mediums entertaining the audience and making a living but when they start to give false hope to the bereaved or pass messages on that are very emotionally charged - particularly where children are concerned then that's where it stops being entertainment and they become emotional vampires.

I have recently added rather a few apparant famouse "ghost hunters" to my face book and when I sent them private mesagers asking for complicated advice or when I pulled them up on things I was removed rather quickly. You have to remember, these people are doing this job for the cash ! There are a whole lot of people out there spending all there time and money on reserch and its a damb shame that the general publc prefer all the twonk that is churned out through the tv, to real observations. I could do with Evette's money to advance my reserch ! that would help no end. But alas this would never happen as maybe people are never meant to know. It is a field of reserch which has been looked down on for hundreds of years, you have to take your hat off to the early reserchers. |

Well said Iain,
I think you're spot on with that. TV shows such as MH, TAPS etc are there primarily for pure entertainment and ratings. They have to 'create' phenomena because what we perceive as ghosts don't perform on cue for film crews. They don't do serious research they do a show. The problem is that hundreds of Ghost Hunting groups see their methodology as a valid template on which to base their own investigations.

Very true, I run my investigations as scientifically as possible and when people ask me what Im looking for, I say " probably not what you would be expecting". They then wonder off snapping pics and calling out to the wind and patting each other on the back as to how psychic they all are. |
