YB & Flossy....
Thank you. V.S.I. offers Spirit Investigations, Spiritual Cleansings, and Spiritual counsel; All free of charge. I wrote my first book, “Ghosts in Reality: the unexplained truth about hauntings in our world today,” based on my personal experiences, Investigations, and ghost hunting research. The book was published in August 2003. The book covers many various topics on the subject of ghosts and hauntings.
My second published book, “Investigating Haunted New Mexico,” looks into the sixth most haunted state in the nation. The book was published in July 2006, and is now available online and in bookstores. The publication covers New Mexico’s most haunted sites, as well as some results from past VSI investigations.
My third book, "Apparition America" is due out in the next couple months.

I've looked up your New Mexico book at Amazon.com. It has one review in it. Have you read that? I would like to hear your response to that. I may buy it... |

YB…
Thank you for bringing this review to my attention, but one must remember, reviews are based on and by the reviewer’s personal opinion. The book is only as a “basic guide” to the hauntings of New Mexico. I agree that the book has a few editing mistakes, however, the facts stand true. A comment of the review…
“For example, the book lists "Pepper's" restaurant and "The Double Eagle" separately. They are in fact in the same building and are haunted by the same ghosts. You literally walk through the Double Eagle to get to Pepper's.”
The restaurants are listed separately because they are “separately” owned. Two separate businesses, with different owners, having separate menus. One is listed as a “restaurant, and one as a café. If you look up the restaurant’s website, they are listed separately as well. http://www.double-eagle-mesilla.com/ .
Another comment…
"I also wish an author would come along who includes more private residences in the haunting investigations. I have talked to people here in New Mexico about personal experiences that are as fascinating as anything in this book. Why do authors always focus solely on the “tourist attractions?"
I agree with the reviewer, for the hauntings of private residences are as fascinating as the “tourist attractions.” However, the reviewer is missing the “key” word here…. “private” residences. V.S.I. respects the privacy of those who contact us for investigations and such. The only private residence covered in the book is that of a past residence where I, myself lived, and those who gave VSI expressed permission to publish, such as old mansions and even apartment complexes, of which are mentioned in the book.
In fact, Chapter 21 in dedicated to New Mexico’s Private residences. There are several of these “private” residences covered in this book that most “ghost” books don’t even mention. For example; the old Mills Mansion in Springer. The WJ Marsh house in Albuquerque. The Rick Abeyta house in Chimayo, and the Grace Plaza Apartment complex, to name but a few. Another comment....
"I also wish the author had spent more time discussing the phenomena on Highway 666 (since renamed). I suspect a whole book could be devoted to this subject."
There’s a place for discussion, and a place for documentation. First, books aren’t meant to “discuss,“ forums and message boards are. Nevertheless, Highway 666 is mentioned in the book, in Chapter 18.… “Haunted Roads and Highways in New Mexico.” As well, the highway was also covered in my first book. That’s why the book is named… Investigating Haunted New Mexico, instead of “The Hauntings of Highway 666.” However, I’m not ruling it out!
The book covers many topics, all relating to the hauntings of state of New Mexico, as well as the “who, what, and whys” of investigations concerning these haunted paranormal sites. I hope I answered your questions YB. Thanks for your reply!

There are two sides to every story, that's why I wanted your side to the review.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Thanks for responding to it. |
