Hey Guys,
New to all of this.
Bit concerned... recently moved in to my boyfriends house. Lovely big 5 bedroomed, detached Georgian place.... Lovely atmosphere.. etc etc... been with him for a year now so know the house really well.
Just recently been noticing some strange noises, floorboards etc.
My BF uses some real expensive hair gel which he had lost... couldnt find it anywhere this one day. Searched the house high and low and turned the place upside down. no where to be found... this stuff is like £24 a tube or something similarly stupid...
We came in this night from shopping and there it was... in the middle of the hall way... just there... we kinda laughed it off and put evertything away in the kitchen then went in front room to watch a film. my bf went to toilet and walks through something wet.. turns the light on and the dog bowl is UPSIDE DOWN on the floor and there is water everywhere... the dog was in the front room with us and when we left the kitchen it was the right way up... very strange but got over it very quickly..
few weeks later when I was in the bath something..?!? tickled my head... made me jump but again.. thought *friendly ghost saying hi... no biggy*
since then as I said we have been noticing strange noises.. it is an old house but the noises dont fit. not the usual warming up pipes sound... few times my bf has ninja'd up the stairs with a hammer becuase it really sounded like someone was in our bedroom.. but nothing ever there...
on top of this the dog has been acting a bit strange, not coming out of his cage, wetting himself and staring at the ceiling and space...
2 nights ago I took my boyfriend to the ferry as he was going out, came back and was in the house on my own... went to walk in the front room and the door was locked... the lock on the door hasnt worked the whole time I have known it... very stange... phoned my boyfriend to ask what to do!? TV was on in there etc and wondered if it had stuck before and just had some nack to it. so bf says no... he said the lock is broken... he thought that someone had broke in and was holding the door shut on the other side.. told me give the door a big push.. im proper pushing at the door and cant get in, throwing my weight at it but nothing is happening... inthe end he said to leave it and he he would get his best amte to come down and siee whats going on. SO I go into the kitchen and sit at the table and we talk it over I said *pah, probably just a ghost and I aint f***ing scared of no f***ing ghost...* and with this the lights all flicker and a light bulb falls out the ceiling...
My bf says he has never heard me scream so much much or heard me sound so scarred... I ran out the house in my slippers... and drove up the road to pick his friend up.. his friend gets in tries the living room door and it opens perfect.. not even a little bit stuck... and the latch as it was before is broken and stuck inside the barrell inside the door... so the door cant lock!!?!?!
and the lightbulb that fell out the ceiling isnt even broken!
WHAT THE EFF?!?!
nw my bf heard all this going on whilst I was ont he phone to him and we cant think of any other explanation for this.
what do we do?
he says the house has never been haunted since he has lived there and now has convinced me that the ghost is following me?! what do I do?!
all advice would be helpfull?!
I spoke to the ghost last night and said if your listening you are scaring me etc etc please stop it. I welcome you to our home but stop scaring us... and then my bf swore at it and told it to f**k off and stop scaring his missus!!
is there there anyhing I can do?
I'm scared to be on my own in my own home!
He's going to a gig tonight and I will be alone! I'm really scared!! HELP PLEAASE!!! |

hi twinkletoes, welcome to the forums
peronally i think you done the right thing by acknowledging that it is there and telling it to stop scaring you, that alone usually does the trick,, so fingers crossed for you
did you have any problems like this in your previous home? |

I had a few noises and shadows at my mums house and when I was really young I saw a woman in my bedroom.. but nothing has ever manifested itself like this!
My mum had a lot of trouble for a while when I was really little aswell... I remember seing saucepans flying off the worktops and a massive tub of custard powder going everywhere.. but nothing since then!
fingers crossed for tonight! |

Can you not get a mate to come round when hes at the concert?
Why dont you set up video cameras and you might catch something - maybe youll see a figure and youll know what it is.
It sounds like this thing is just trying to get your attention - it is aware of you - maybe it wants you to help it. Maybe its confused.
I agree with flossy about acknowledging it. The next time your aware of it you could tell it again sternly that its frightening you. Maybe tell it that its dead, it might not know. But then you might not hear anything more of it - it hasnt attcked you in any way, just scared you, so its probably not malign. So maybe just set up cameras and document it. |

Hi Twinkle Toes and thanks for sharing that experience
I'm a sceptic when it comes to ghosts and hauntings having studied and actively researched the subject for over 30 years. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
If you'd like me to post my reasons for this please reply to this post.

How do you know ghosts exist Cactus - because lot's of people have seen them?. The only reasonable position to adopt when it comes to ghosts is to look at the evidence - look at what science tells us and base your opinion on the known not the unknown.
When I die I won't be feeling anything because....I'll be dead

when you (body) dies it wont feel anything because its just meat, but do you not believe in a soul?
a far as science goes - we are still a very primitive form of intelligent life - we still havent even conquered all our own diseases etc...science has a long way to go to be called science |

Cactus - do you believe everything you read or do you form an evaluation based on the evidence first?.
