I've not had any experience with haunted objects - probably because I don't believe objects can be haunted and can't see any valid evidence to support the claim that an object can be haunted.
However, people report that their lamp, locket, video recorder etc is haunted - IMO the people are haunting themselves with their imagination - nothing more.

Thanks for you opinion, I started this topic for people who have had experiences which to them are perfectly valid. I value your opinion but that is all it is an opinion- nothing more. |

Quite right and it's an opinion which is as valid as anyone else's which also just happens to have the weight of evidence behind it.
If all you need to believe in anything is to simply hear a story about it then evidentially you're setting the bar pretty low - not that there's anything wrong with that of course but IMO it's not the best way to get an accurate view of the way the world is.

at which point did i ever say that i count a story as evidence, i am just interested in hearing what others have to say. your not interested in this topic so why waste your time commenting. as for you so called "weight of evidence" there is no definate proof of the existance of ghosts and there is no proof of haunted objects, but as i said i want to hear what others have to say. just because you dont believe doesnt mean people dont have stories to tell. now lets agree to disagree and leave it at that. |

this topic is for people to share their stories and experiances, which clearly you dont have so i suggest taking your one sided, closed minded opinions and finding a topic more suitable for you. IMO!!! |

How do you know I'm not interested in this topic and why do you believe that I'm wasting my time by commenting?.
I believe that people will have stories to tell and I look forward to reading them - whether they're presented as evidence or just interesting stories. I don't see any rules that prevent me having an opinion and posting it - whether I agree with the poster or not.
This topic is for everyone - not just people who believe in the validity of haunted objects. I actually have several stories about haunted objects so clearly you're wrong on your assumption there. I'm also very open minded when it comes to considering all possibilities - if you look up the definition of a sceptic you'll probably get a better understanding of what truly having an open mind means - as opposed to the absolute closed mindedness of 'the believers' who get very defensive when their stories are challenged and any alternative non paranormal explanation is hinted at.

DB, if u wasnt intrested u wouldnt be on this forum :P posting to peoples sightings and reports helping them.. Giving a second alterntive.. which is always good.
back on topic, i dont belive in haunted objects... but.. something kinda same could be stone tape, were past events are stored into the stone.. or "object" we use quarts to stoor memory for computers and etc.." and could be possible to somehow project these past events giving the right tempature, weather conductions time, date, and Natural EMF.
this is certainly something what can maybe be proven in time.. :) |

Thanks Project-Reveal.
I wouldn't rule out any hypothesis providing it has some grounding in science such as you've suggested. Naturally generated EMF from, for example, quartz crystals embedded in rock/stone has some mileage and some interesting research has been done in this field by Paul Devereaux in relation to his Earth Lights theory.
Anecdotes may prompt further research , but the only way to find out if the anecdotes represent a real phenomenon or not is controlled experimental tests - for allegedly haunted objects this wouldn't present a problem although I'd be most surprised if any amount of testing found signs of ghosts or energy attached to any object.

well yep, i see what u mean it depends on the style of object.
Like a table... which is a good conductor for energy.. to a object which has a EMF or magnetic charge which many things do... all this could maybe help with the projection.. if this was to work.
i am not suggesting haunted objects, i am more leading towards objects storing events, which may give the impression of a haunting around it.. :) |

My girlfriends nan has a small carved elephant in her display cabinet along with many other ornate elephants. I was told that this particular elephant moves around the shelf by itself yet no one ever sees it moving. I took it with a pinch of salt until we house sat while her nan was on holiday. My GF pointed out which one it was and i spent the next hour watching it, nothing. We spent most of the day in the room and a few hours later i noticed it had moved, not along the shelf but had turned. Strange |

Hi Gav,
Is it a glass shelf and does the base of this particular Elephant differ from the others in any way?. Also is it lighter?. It could be moving due to very subtle vibrations that for various reasons don't affect the other Elephants.

Hey DB, no its a wooden shelf & the elephant is also wooden & part ofa set but not the smallest 1. I did try a few experiments to try & get it to move but no joy. There is no materials on the base on any of the wooden set. |

Hi Gav,
Did the elephant stay turned for the rest of your stay?
