It began a couple of weeks ago I went to the shop brought a lottery ticket and put it on the shelf in the kitchen, under a teapot. Then I went onto wash-up, my hubby works nights and was asleep in bed, but I suddenly got a strong feeling that he was behind me (he creeps up on people sometimes) I turned to the left and saw an arm stretched out towards the lottery tickets and they fell to the floor, there was nobody there. A few days later I was woken at 11.30 by a man calling my name but again my hubby was at work and there were only my two daughters in the house (both asleep). I went to my sisters yesterday evening with my daughters and my hubby was woken by a man that he described as wearing chain mail, he said the house was very quite.
I have also noticed my dog who very rarely barks has started to bark at the wall as if she can see something. |

Hi pullup, I'm a middle aged man from England but living in Scotland so we've got something in common there, however welcome to World of Ghosts
First off - don't be afraid or think that you're being haunted. Most cases of haunting or ghost sightings are just people getting spooked by their own senses - they mistake things for ghosts or make errors of perception - although some folks on here may tell you different (but that's their opinion).
OK first off, we all have hinckey feelings and get a bit creeped out especially when we're alone and feeling a bit vulnerable - during these times we may see things that are just extensions of our over active imaginations.
If you awake from sleep you may have sounds or visions or both due to hypnapompia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnopompic
same thing applies to your hubbys experience. It's a common state that I've experienced several times that people do tend to attribute to the paranormal - however it's perfectly normal and well understood by current psychology and science.
Dogs bark at lots of things. Our dogs are typical barkers who bark at completely random things that mostly we don't hear or see. If your dog has started to bark or look at a certain place it could be down to several things and not at all related to ghosts or the paranormal.
For example the sounds could be coming from that direction - sounds generated at source that lies way beyond the wall. You're probably well aware that a dogs hearing is far more sensitive than ours.
He's probably not seeing anything but is responding to sounds coming from that general direction - there just happens to be a wall in the way.

Welcome to the forum Pullup!
(Sorry so late on the welcoming)
What an experience you had there!
When you spoke of the arm reaching for the lotto tickets, can you describe it?
Meaning...was the arm clothed, bare or possibly wearing chain mail?
Curious if the arm and the man your hubby saw
may be one in the same.
I agree with DB to a point. Yes, I do believe there may be examples of misidentification,
being spooked by being alone, hearing a noise and or a sound or
awakening in a confused state of mind. I do understand and acknowledge these instances.
But....I do believe you and your hubby did have some
type of a visit.
Now, have you tried to communicate with this spirit?
Or shall I ask do you have any want to communicate.
Please keep us posted Pull, we are all very interested
in this incident. |

I can only describe the arm as grey, So it could have been a chain mail. I have read other posts and decided to just say our loud "thankyou for visiting us but we would like you to leave now." I felt slightly stupid but it seems to have worked.
It's not the first time things like this have happened in this house, when my daughter was about 7 she said she saw a woman with her hair in a bun in our bedroom and I saw the ghost of my great grandmother one christmas when I was a child, she was just sitting on the sofa in our living room.
Is it possible that some houses or people are more subseptible to visits. |
