Hello Everyone i am a newbie just arrived, i live in Nottingham in a haunted 111yr old house i have many interests the main one is trying to keep the sprits i have here happy Very Happy

We have six spirits in the house a lady who lived in the house in 1933 a man and his son and three spirit Children, Nelly, thats the lady, she likes to touch our hair sometimes as she loved to have her hair set i found all this out from a Tarot reading i had last year tho i have known about her for a long time as we can smell cigarettes some times, as to the man and his son, before the house was built there used to be a business on the land site , and he owned it and he comes to visit i get a really warm feeling when he is around as to the spirit children, Nelly used to look after them when she was alive and they sometimes come to visit

Nelly has carved her name on our wall outside the house, so being a curious kind of person i went to our local archives to see what i could find, she lived in the house in 1933 with her Husband. The rest of the spirits came through when i had my Tarot reading in November last year there is George and his son Tom he was the factory owner, as for the children i didnt get their names but i know when they are around, i sometimes hear voices, and things go missing also things just drop off shelves just yesterday a plastic bottle fell off the windowsill i had just washed it to put in the re-cycle bin later on The door at the bottom of the stairs will shut on its own as well. I have a music box on a cabinet in the living room which has not been wound up for over a year when it started playing all by its self, just last week, and a picture dislodged itself from the wall the picture by the way was of Elvis and the music box was playing Dont Be Cruel. I know pretty much when the spirits are around not so much the children but i can sense the others i like having them around and i often talk to Nelly but only when i am on my own

well, that does'nt sound much like what goes on here but interesting stuff none the less. Perhaps you should get a camera set up.

We have odd light's that seem to appear at will in different places around the house.

I posted the other week about a saucepan that moves itself so I can imagin the odd thing moving around on it's own.

Are you convinced that this is really a haunting or do you feel maybe there is another explantion?
I am a firm beliver in the UFO's but haunting are harder to come by.

Things do tend to move around , i have seen orbs in the house, light bullbs sometimes explode, we have had all the electricts checked and no defects were found . We went out for the day and we always leave the radio on for our Cockatiel as he loves music but when we got back home the radio had been switched off
Have you ever had that corner of your eye syndrome ? where you see something then when you look full on its not there, that happens a lot.
We still get the odd smell of cigarette smoke and a perfume i cannot reconise

Hi Katina,
I have had that corner of eye thing, I occasionally have thought there was a shadow figure and when I looked around it's not there. One time in my car I thought there were someone approaching the door but after seeing the shadow then there was nobody.

I beleive it's known as the shadowman.

Sounds weird with the radio switching itself off, If there is anything in those ghost boxes and EVP then there could well be a link. All life is suposed to be on some kind of frequency afterall.

I have seen these shadows in graveyards as well, i am tracing my family history and i was looking for family graves when i saw these dark shadows only for a few seconds but they seemed real enough i always thank the spirits before i leave a graveyard and wish them goodbye that sounds a little strange i know but, you are entering their house as it were and if they were alive and you went to visit you would thank them for their hospitalty Smile

In some cases I have read there have been people followed home by spirits and haunted. Better to thank them just incase, then then risk upseting them!

As to family history i am at a standstill at the moment as i belive we have a murderer in the family way back in 1862, he was the last man to be hanged in public at Derby Goal, over 2000 people came to see the event
and as yet i have been unable to find his birth father so i think maybe his spirit is blocking me in some way
In one graveyard i visited on every gravestone i found with my family name on there were ladybirds crawling on them
There is another graveyard in Nottingham and its truly evil in one part ( its where the paupers are buried and possibly criminals) there are cold spots, no birds fly over and it feels like you are being watched a really horrible place, while i was there i felt sadness and despair there were graves with at least 15 children in maybe they were plague victims Sad

I went there with my Daughter and a friend and we could not wait to get out of there, i asked the Angels for protection while we were there i wont be going back.

I was wondering about your Cockatiel....does it act up at all when you feel the spirits around?
