I'm sure you can all work out what inspired the name! I'm David, a ghost hunter and historian from Lancashire. I've done the stopover, and am currently doing videos of haunted places (just for the record) like the massive old Assylum (closed 1996ish) very near Chingle Hall. Graveyard is still accessable, most of it is not. |

As far as I know, Chingle Hall is not doing any more visits. But I don't claim total knowledge on that.
A very breif history.
Around the late 80s, when I was a boy, they allowed people do drive up and there were folk around giving informal tours. Fantastic!
Then in the 90s it was very much the private house- they have a car park type area, but it's private, and they got cross if people drove up and parked.
In the mid 2000s, they allowed overnighters, with a guide at first and then left alone- but these were not advertised, you needed to know someone who knew someone etc to get it done- there was a guide, and it was about £40.
These have stopped for now.
I'll add too that I'm not connected with the house- I just like the name! |
