Hello guys my name is carl.
I am new to all this but am a big fan of ghost hunters on TV so I have for the first time gone on a ghost hunt tonight with frightnights at bisham abbey and some things happened and its made me want to explore more, I really wanted to know is going with a company like frightnights the only way to do this, I mean I paid £65 tonight per person which is a little high priced for me, I was just wondering is there anything cheaper or do you guys all meet up at all anytime and do your own investigations? I would love to start getting my own equiptment. Sorry if I sound like a total Newbie.
Look forward to all your replies.
By the way I live in the UK in surrey so I cant travel too far like scotland or anywhere maybe somewhere local in surrey or nearby? |

hi carl, welcome to the forums
why dont you see if there is any investigation teams local to you and see about joining up, might be a bit cheaper than going on ghost hunts like frightnight (which i dont really trust)
or try going out yourself with a camcorder |

Hi Carl,
Welcome to the site.
There is no equipment known to man that will detect ghosts. There's equipment designed to detect other things such as sound - digital tape recorders and electrical frequencies from wires etc - EMF meters. There's even night vision and IR cameras and headsets designed to see in the dark but they're not designed to detect ghosts because no one knows what a ghost is - they don't know what it's made of, how it works or even whether it really exists which is debatable. There are also silly devices such as Franks Box and our old friend the Ouija Board but they're about as credible as a tube of smarties.
If you're really serious about finding out the truth behind ghosts, spirits, poltergeists and how and why people experience these things don't waste your time and money on gadgets and group investigations (which are akin to a ghost train ride). Get some good books written by people who have done this properly and if you read one book on the subject before you part with anymore cash look at this link:

O the name torchesuk is because I own a company called torchesUK and I thought why not use that as my name as every ghost hunter needs one, I sell basic and professional LED Torches In The UK, www.torchesuk.co.uk I need to still build it I have never got the time my website only has the basic torch ranges on it at the moment I have the higher range on ebay though, here is my most expensive brightest model but the professional range does start from around £40 check out my other items for sale.
