Cool, putting in time and money.
I have a question for you. Have you ever been to Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia PA? I was on their website and they host investigations. Cost about $25 an hour with a few other stipulations.
If you haven't gone, would this interest you?
Here's a link to the schedule and cost site:

Thanks, I'll pass that over to the group.
It would indeed be a great trip, we ate gearing up for several hunts next month. As for the equipment, I decided to buy the recorder for myself lol. I was going to get a Zoom but one of our members already has one so while I was thinking about that I saw that DAS was building the first actual EVP recorder. Price was close and it had a few extras that might be helpful in a personal research project I'm working on. I'm testing matrixing and psychological responses to percieved stimuli. So far I can tell you there do seem to be huge coincidences in events, or are they conected after all :) |

If you do some basic Internet searches you can find some great software that won't cost a thing. One free EVP software program is Audacity, an Open Source program with many features in it. Since it is an Open Source program, it continues to be updated so check back with the website often for newer versions. I have used Audacity for over a year now and just love the simplicity of use and the extra features it has like noise reduction, a magnitude of filters, the ability to change tempos, speed and more. If you want to record at home or with a laptop, simply plug in an external microphone to your computer, go into the Audacity program and click on project, and then new stereo track. Once the screen opens, you simply hit the red record button and you will be recording directly into the program.
If you are uploading from an existing audio recorder, you would use a connector cable for the go-between from your recorder to your computer. The process is the same as above only you would hit 'play' on your audio recorder. You can upload hours of recording time, or seconds. I like to upload one hour at a time, then analyze. When I am done, I upload the next hour, and so-forth.

I like Audacity, we have used it for years, I also like Adobe Audition and use both a lot. The RT-EVP has been tested several times now and we love the record quality of this thing, no hiss and the amplification is amazing. We recorded a great EVP this weekend on an investigation with it.

As for any investigations this year at EU, YB I doubt we can find enough time to get up that way, I have been busy with other projects and work all summer. But if one does come up closer to you Ill let you know for sure. |

It's pricy but the quality is well worth it IMO. Plus it now has some new features. Nothing wrong with other recorders though we still use all of them but the audio from the RT and the Zoom is way easier to go over. |
