Off to Preston Manor Tonight! 05/12/09

Off to investigate Preston Manor tonight which is just outside Brighton, Sussex , UK.

Should be good! Most haunted have been there and apparently got good results (very busy!) but i bet we won't be so lucky.

I'll let you know how we get on. Very Happy

If you go in there with negative vibes the spirits will probably ignore you.. Think Positive my friend!!!

Oh i will, I was making a point that on Most Haunted they get stuff happening all the time and most of it is probably fake!!!!! he he

What a good evening we had at Preston Manor. Both Jason and i went with Paranormal Tours which was booked months and months ago! When we got there we were taker to the basement which was where we were based for the night. That's in itself was a great place to be. The corridors leading to other parts of the house were very old with uneven walls and wooden floors. There were 22 guests plus the Paranormal Tours team. We were also joined by 3 staff members who look after the house who were very good in not giving any information away.

After the usual grounding etc a small group of us went off to set up trigger objects around the beautiful house. Most of the furniture was in place and original. None of the trigger objects moved which was disappointing. On our return we all went of for a walk round the house. We had a medium called Jamie who gave us information about the spirits and some of the things that have been experienced and also information about the house through out it's life. Much of the information was backed up by the staff but not all. In one of the rooms upstairs we all heard a knock coming from a corner of the room. it was quite loud and another was heard about 5 mins after the first. After some investigation and trying some little experiments we could not replicate the knocking.

We then returned to base which is when we found two girls missing. They had had enough and went off in a taxi. This was a good thing as they were quite disruptive by being loud and brash. We think they had been drinking so we were all relieved that they had gone. After a quick cup of coffee and a chocolate biscuit we were put into our groups and allocated a team member to take us to our first location.

Our first stop was the the Trophy Room. This room was a warm, dark paneled room with glass cabinets containing objects that had been used throughout the house in it's lifetime. This room was the room that David Wells (Most Haunted) stated that the resident spirit nun that occupied the house showed David that she was buried under the patio just outside of the french doors leading to the garden. Interestingly our medium Jamie did not pick up on the nun throughout the evening. After some calling out we decided to do some glass divination on the equipment box that we had with us. After some calling out the glass did move. I asked the spirit where he/she was as Jason who was standing opposite me stated that he was feeling cold air around him. Another investigator standing next to Jason was also feeling the cold air. Another investigator took laser temperature readings from the back of Jason's jacket and he found that the temperature dropped by a couple degrees quite quickly. The spirit moved the glass over towards Jason which was interesting. The glass moved BEFORE Jason's temperature was taken. Not much else happened except that we all heard a kind of 'breathy whistle' twice throughout he investigation in that room but we couldn't tell what it was exactly and people heard it at the same time but in different locations in the room.

The next Location was the Dining room and Living room/Lounge. While in the dining room Andy, our team member could see in his minds eye a colonel who was in the fusiliers and dressed in a red uniform with medals attached to his coat. He also had a large long mustache. We were asking out for him to do something and after a while we heard squeaking (NOT a mouse!!!) coming from a window shutter but on inspection we could not replicate this noise. I think it was the outside window. It was quite breezy that evening but the noises were on demand and while the wind was quiet. We could hear the wind from the chimney.
We then moved to the living room where nothing happened.

After a break we went off to the kitchens being looked after by Jamie our medium. He did sense a couple of spirits but they were not giving Jamie any information. Jason did catch a very odd light/Orb float across his video recorder screen. It changes shape as it floats past and we recon it's not an insect but.......? This orb was also caught by another investigator on his video camera so we are going to compare the two films and post to You tube at some point.

We moved to another room which was very quiet so we moved on to yet another room where after much asking out and me whistling we did get a whistle from what sounded to me like the previous room. We all heard this but it did not happen again.

Our last location was upstairs in the bedrooms area. The first room we went into was the room where we heard the two knocks on the walk round. We all sat at a table and used a glass to do some more glass divination. After a short period of time asking spirit to move the glass we asked if there was anyone in the room that was connected to one of us. The glass then started moving and it to a young chap who was sitting to my right. His mother was sitting opposite him and i can't remember their names which is annoying! Anyhoo i asked who he was related to and the glass again moved to the chap on my right. I asked if this person was male and to move the glass towards the chap on my right if that was the case and the glass did indeed move to the chap on my right. I also found out that the was the father of this young chap and husband of his mother plus i managed to get the year of his death correct which was confirmed by the mother and son. This spirit died in 1997. The glass seemed to move better between the son and mother. we also managed to get the young mans occupation by calling out a list of services jobs like fire man, army etc and it settled on Police which was correct as the young lad works for the Met Police. This part of the whole nights investigation was the most impressive and convincing part which i felt very privileged to be a part of. A similar thing happened at Bolebroke Castle earlier this year. We then moved to two bedrooms which are meant to be very active but apart from being cold, nothing happened. Time was then up so we returned back to base.

So it was back to the 'hub' for a round up of what we all experienced and we were not the only group to have experienced stuff as other experienced different things from each other.

It was a very interesting nights investigating in a wonderful house and i came away happy with what we experienced.

Sounds like a wonderful fruitful night, glad it went over well.
I personally prefer to go by myself or with a small group. To many people sometimes scare off the spirits and they don't make contact. Did you get any still's that you can post??

I agree with you about too many people. I sat there in the 'hub' thinking there were far too many people and i don't want to do this type of investigating any more, i would rather stick with just my group. When i look back we did get a fair amount of activity so it wasn't a wasted night by any means.
