I live about 3 miles away from it,my parents still live about 50 yards from the castle-their garden is surrounded by roman walls. Quite a few years ago some friends and i dared each other to sleep in one of the turrets ......we did till about 3.30 am....when there were just too many strange noises to be heard. There is also the old Gaol (jail) a few yards down the road,and the Mint house which is haunted by a lady..........Great place to visit,creepy....and if you go to the castle make sure you go down into the dungeon by the moat,no lights at all and it smells ,its absoloutly terrifying !!!!! 8) ...
