I am posting the experience that converted me from a total non believer.
Can I add, this is for a genuine discussion, if you have no meaningful, unsarcastic input, please do not answer.

Back in 2006, I was living in Birkenhead with my wife at the time.
She had lived at the house long before I even met her, and in a discussion one night between a few of us, it came out, that my wife had previously seen a ghost in the house. Now I will admit, I never believed it, but she was adamant she seen a ghost of a little girl in victorian dress that she called sally.

The weekend in question was a few years after I moved in. I never till this point seen anything, I admit I heard some strange noises that was it.
I was not well, and came home from work early, mid November so was dark about 4 oclock. I was in bed, with a real bad migraine, when I was woke by a noise constantly being made in the room.
I opened my eyes, and for just a few seconds I saw a girl, in the very same victorian type clothing, with a small posy of flowers held tightly in front of her.
Yes you could say just waking up I may see things, and that is what I put it down to at that time.
When I got up on the morning, I told the missus what I had seen, without mentioning the flowers at all, she asked me did she appear with them. When I said yes, she said she does when anyone is ill.

Now, later that day, my best friend came round, we were going out for the night, and I started telling him about it. I will admit we laughed it off, and then we were in the living room having a drink before we went out.
Now at the point of the next incident, and this cannot be explained at all, ther was me, mike my mate, julie the missus, Julies best friend elaine, my 3 step kids, not small two were teens at the time.

I was the only one stood up, with my back to the TV. On the TV was some money, a fiver a 50p and a £1 coin.
I was literally taking the mick out of the situation when the 50p and the £1 coin (which were on top of each other) elevated straight in the air, over me, and landed on the floor just in fron of my mate, bang on top as they were before the £1 on top of the 50p.

The whole room fell silent, with Julie just saying "told you".

You can easily dismiss the vision in the sleep, the coins cannot be explained.
Everyone in that room seen the coins lift off the TV and said they stayed together the whole time, they went over me I saw them land, I never seen them lift up.

No one was behind me with a physical body, as I was directly in front of the TV about 3 inches from the screen.

Someone proving they were there? who knows.
One last thing, my ex was partially disabled, and when at her worst she used to have a carer look after her, the carer actually once spoke to the apparition of the girl, as she walked past the bathroom while the carer was cleaning up, she had thought the daughter was back from school at first, only to find only the two of them were in the house.

I never witnessed anything after it, but my ex wife knows the people in the house, she said they have had things happen but not seen anyone.
Apparently, one of the families kids in the house apparently was ill, and that kid reported the feeling of someone trying to tuck the bedsheet under the mattress.

The way people were sat, I had my back close to the TV facing them, there was my ex sat in a chair to the left, my mate and the other girl sat on a settee straight in front of me, and the 3 kids, the smallest was sat on the floor by his mum, and the two teenagers were stood in the doorway behind where the settee was, so no one could have done it.

As you say, I did not take the mick after that, but that event started me watching all the ghost programmes on the TV and trawling the internet.

As well as my experiences, my mum had one when she was pregnant with my sister, in a friends house. And my brother in law, well, what he experienced was beyond belief. He is a social worker, and any one at all who knows the Wirral on the site will know Arrowe Park.
In the park grounds is a huge mansion, and they used to use it for respite for people with diasbility. The things he seen were on a virtual hourly basis, and he was one of the biggest non believers going before he went to work there.
I will one day relay a couple of experiences of his, but one thing I do know, is a Paranormal team went to do an investigation, and left before dark and would not go back.

I will post in this thread for you a bit later on.
You have to understand, these were not my experiences, however, I have been told in depth what has actually gone on and can only add a couple of other things in defence of my brother in law.
1/ He would not make this up. Like I have said, he was one of the most staunch sceptics I had known, my mum put up with years of leg pulling from him over her experiences.
2/ It is lengthy, and one incident was noted by 2 police cars and a fire engine crew, which after initially broadcasting over the radio what they saw, has never been revealed since.

ARROWE HALL.

Back in 1989 by brother in law, Tim, went to work for Social Services, in a care centre for Disabled kids.
If you look up the history of Arrowe hall online, it was used for centuries as hospitals, homes, offices, allsorts.

After coming home from work, my sis said he walked straight in to the living room and slumped in a chair rubbing his face for ages, she said he was grey in colour, and after the usual "you look like you have seen a ghost comment" the reply came back, " a ghost? ive seen 3".

He used to work the nightshift, so when he clocked on, the kids were usually all in bed.

The second night he was there, he was working with just one other person, as there were not many in for respite, and about 11pm there was running around on the landing. He went to the stairs and seen two girls, only young he estimates 5-6 yrs old, running in and out of the rest rooms on the first floor. Him and his colleague went to get them back into bed, but they disappeared from one room to the other, he said they were twins. This carried on most of the night.
Just as light approached, his colleague was doing the night report, and Tim was checking upstairs to start waking the kids, when he saw the 2 girls holding a womans hand, she went into one of the empty rooms and the door closed, when he went in to challenge who she was, the room was empty.
When day staff came in, they looked unsurprised, they just said " oh dont worry you will see a lot of them".

Following night, there was a knock on the front doors, they are solid wood, like you find on old mansions and things, when they answered the door, they just heard footsteps, as clear as day, walk in, to the stairs and walk up.
An hour after that, they heard music from the dining rooms on the first floor, and when he and a colleague went up, they just witnessed plates being pushed around a table, and a very heavy pair of velvet curtains being pulled closed ( these curtains used to be pulled by 2 members of staff).

He has seen cooks inthe kitchen, nurses tending to medical instruments, sounds of people crying in pain. The biggest one involved 999.

You need to know Birkenhead to visualise this, there is a road called Woodchurch Rd and part of it turns into a high point where you can look ahead and see the trees of Arrowe Park and the roof of the Hall.

Just on shift change, there was a small fire in the grounds, so the staff, went to tend to it, when they got outside, which was a matter of seconds, the fire was huge, and there was a woman stood in front of it.
The woman ignored the shouts to move and the heat was bad, so they had to call the fire brigade.
The well known fact at the time, from the fire crew and police at the time, is the fire was that big, they could see the actual flames from Woodchurch Rd. Other people from and estate about 1/4 mile away had also phoned 999. The police, coming to investigate arson etc also seen the flames, but as the crews pulled into the gardens, the flames died as quick as they started and the woman vanished.
There is other stuff, but that was some of the worst.
In 1992 they moved the home to a new site called Willow Tree in Wallasey. A night watchman was put in by the council to look after the vacant Arrowe Hall, and he was known well to the staff.
Within 10 days he quit his job after doing a walk round and a face appearing on the back of the dining room door telling him to leave.

The council turned it into offices, then left leaving it for just storage, after 3 months.
The last experience Tim had, was when they were leaving, he was packing up the PCs in the office, when he heard a cough, and a chair scrape, as he turned round to look, there was just a black outline of a person, stood up from the chair and walked, evaporating as he went.

What I know of the paranormal team who went, is they were the first, and as far as I know last, people to be given permission to do a vigil there.
While doing the daytime investigation, there was more than half, said they were leaving and not going back, all had a personal experience.
They never even set anything up.

Tim does not work in that line now, he runs Youth Clubs for Disabled kids, and he speaks openly about his experience now, where as while employed he would not. I live in Scotland, and dont see them much, but I am down there next week, so I will talk to him, and see if he would be willing to register and tell you more.

Oh, forgot to say. The woman and kids, research was done, and there is a recorded death of 2 girls by drowning, then the bodies being burnt, and the mother also committing suicide.

Yes one quote from September 21st is mine, the others I do not know any of them. My quote on there is a watered down version to what I have posted here.
The paranormal team who went were called WikiWirral paranormal. Whether they are still together or not, im not sure but they were stating the reasons for not going back was because the staff who had experiences were refusing to go in at night. I have no other information on the group, but I know they turned up, as one of the women my brother in law knows in the council had to take security guards and stay with them throughout as part of the deal to let them in.

The building itself was a house, then training for nurses.
In WW11 it was used as an extension to the neighbouring hospital, before being used then as an insanity unit, then special needs home.

A little bit of news, and to be honest I am shocked.
I saw my ex missus out at the weekend, and while talking, found out, that her ghost called Sally has actually followed her.
She has not seen this apparition for a long time, but recently she was diagnosed with cancer. She is adamant, that a couple of months ago, at her lowest point, the apparition appeared on a number of occasions in a couple of days. This was in the day as well as night.
I have no reason to doubt her, but it seems to have followed her, and not just stayed at the previous address.
She has my number now, and she is going to make enquiries into her family history and see if this girl may be a distant relative, as it seems to have attached itself to her.
