the scariest experience of my life - My grandfathers house

OK so recently my grandfather passed away, when he was alive i used to stay at his big country house and he would tell me all sorts of stories about ghosts and i wouldn't be able to sleep, but still, i loved it. One night me and him stayed up for ages hunting for ghosts in his old 1840's house but we never found anything, still he would tell me about things he had heard or maybe seen and i would think "yeah yeah" but overall it was a good time.
(this took place june 21st 2009)
After his death my parents told me that we were going to his house and that we were going to move/sell all the things in his house and i thought "great in honour of him i'll stay up and hunt for these ghosts he told me about".

To tell you all the truth i was absolutely crapping myself after the stories he told me, i felt like such a child, the day flew by and then the night came, my parents knew what i was doing but just ignored me.

Now when i really got started. I slowly crept through the front room when i heard a scream echo from the cellar, i screamed like a woman (i wont lie) i built up the courage to go in the cellar and then saw what look like a man dressed in victorian clothing, we both stared at each other for about 5 seconds when i then asked "who are you" he then turned around and totally vanished, by then my whole body was shaking and i then began to run up to my room for the weekend, i sat up in my bed and i could hear a howling from a dog outside my room and then a scratching on my door, then all of a sudden silence i layed awake for hours because i could hear something running and laughing along the corridors.

In the morning i woke up and realised it was 10am, i only had 6 hours sleep and i decided to ask my parents if they had heard/seen anything, turns out my mum had seen what looked like a little girl take a toy from a box we had packed full of toys and my dad hadn't seen or heard anything but had woke up with a bright red sunburnt back like he had been outside, shirtless all day (bad image in my mind) but he had been inside the house, also he had found a burnt out candle at the foot of the bed like someone had been burning him all night, all i kept thinking is "how did my grand dad live in here"

All of this is what i experienced, please comment and it is up to you if you want to believe me or not, but i assure you this did happen

i forgot to say that i had set up a video camera and was excited to see what was on it, i watched through around 40 minutes of footage and then the light came on my camera and then i pointed at the roof and went off

Sounds fascinating. Where is the house? Is it sold yet?

Also any chance you can get the interesting bit of the video up on youtube?

well the video is quite weird, all that happens is the light flickers and then it all shoots up and blurs

What.. the light shoots up to the ceiling? Do you mean the light or the light bulb itself? Still would be cool to see.

Where is the house and has it sold yet?

the camera rushes up to the roof.
and the house is just about 20 minutes from cheshire near the countryside, i have done a little more research and it turns out that the house used to be a small hospice, that explains the deaths that may have caused the ghosts, and it hasn't been sold

Maybe you can go back to the house and take some pictures.
You may be able to 'catch' something on film as well.

Get a small group and take cameras, Video cameras and a Dictaphone if you can get one and stay the night.

I wish i could!

me and my brother are there now ill send back any news later tonight or today if anything happens, actually so far we've already heard some footsteps, were not sure but it sounded like it

If I were there we would be going into that cellar lol. Keep notes of any odd temperature changes during these events. Do you know anyone with an EMF meter? Even an entry level one would be good. Take lots and lots of pictures from all angles and if you havecany way to record auidio leave the recorder in the cellar, there is a chance it may be a repeating residual.

Having lived in a very old and haunted house myself, where a number of unexplained (and at times very frightening) things happened over the 4 years I was there, I don't for one second disbelieve you. I just wish I had the camera equipment to try and record stuff while I lived there, so good luck and I'll be interested to hear how you get on.

OK ive just got back from the house and i thought i should share my findings with all of you back at world of ghosts, more stuff happened than the first tim,
ok i'll start at the beginning, at the beginning of the night, i think i told you we heard footsteps so the first place we investigated was the attic, it was really creepy up there (last time i investigated i didn't go up and i could hear things up there while in bed) firstly i started with the whole "if youre hear please let us know" at that point we heard a knocking on the wall in the tune of hail britannia (crazy i know) but i remembered that it was my grandfathers favourite song since he was very patriotic, i looked at my brother who pointed at a wooden rocking horse, it was moving and noone/thing was there at that point we ran out of the attic and never went back.

ok part 2 (lol i sound like a movie)
we entered the living room (although if the house is full of undead spirits then i think we should rename it) it was around 11pm at this point when i decided to use a torch (i clicked the button at the end of the torch down and then unscrewed it to a point that just by touching it it would light up but not by shaking it on stomping around near it) i said very loud "if you are hear with us please touch the torch, at that point the torch lit up i walked towards it and then it went out again, "thank you" my brother Ray said (i know what youre thinking, his name is ray like that one from ghostbusters but the only thing is he is a skeptic)
we spent around 20 minutes trying to make it happen again but to no prevail we decided that there wasn't enough proof and headed down to the cellar
