Not quite, demons are believed to be the souls of dead "creatures" that ones walked among men and who eventually corrupted them "the fallen". It is a debate between scholars as to where they reside. I personally think it's all labels of something quite misunderstood by primitive minds. |

I've always thought of demons as a ghost that has never been a singular living entity. This, in my mind would lead to it being the result of a mass emotional outpouring, probably most likely to be found around battlefields, prisons, hospitals etc. Just an opinion of course. |

I don't think one can kill a demon, just extracted it from it's current location. I participated in extracting one from a home, where it went we don't know however it no longer invaded the household. |

Humans kill a demon? That's not IMO possible. |

From what I understand of demons you can only banish them not actually kill them because their already dead. |

Slightly delayed response, I fear. Ironically, life gets in the way of so much, and being active is difficult.
I know it's fictional, but Anne Rice has some clever ideas about where the souls of the dead go. "Memnoch the Devil", if you haven't read it, really does give you something to think about.
It's difficult to explain without quoting reams of the novel, but...might be worth a glance... |

"or one can say they were never really "alive!"..."
Indeed you could say that as well.
We could also consider them as intelligent extra-dimensional beings. |
