Many people swear that Ouija Boards are instruments of communication, or worse, that people use to have a two way conversation with incarnate spirits. Most people will have had a Ouija Board experience or at the very least know someone who has and they will all swear blind that it 'worked'.
IMO people can genuinely believe that the board has contacted the dead but other more explainable forces are at work - from outright fakery where one or more of the sitters move the planchette or glass to the ideomotor effect.
One easy way to test the validity of the Board and to see who is really communicating is to cover the letters and numbers and jumble their order so that the sitters cannot see them.
I guarantee the spirits will either stop communicating or will start to talk incoherently.

a question we have talked about many a time
some believe it is deff real no questions asked and some think its our sub concious that moves the planchet
im 50 50, ive done them before and thought it to be real at the time, as they told me things only i would know and i am sure i was not moving it
some say they are dangerous and open portals, but ive had no trouble with them
and some also say its just a toy that works with your sub concious
this guy has been doing it for years and swears they are comunication boards with the dead

i think its all to do with what you believe |

okay what about the so called "demon" Zozo? I mean HUNDREDS of people claim to come into contact with Zozo while using the Ouija Board, and strange things start to happen? Could all those people really be making it up? I don't know what to believe. There are so many reports that they're actually making a movie about it called "I am Zozo" I've read some of the reports, some of the stories I think could be made up, some of them are so frightening that it makes me not want to try the Ouija just in case.
Doesn't it drive you crazy not knowing the absolute truth. haha |

Idk what to think of ouji boards, whether they really work or not, but I've seen the Exorcist, and my view is, why take a chance? |

ive not heard of this zozo?
ive done it about a dozen times (could be more)
and nothing has happened to me
they could be just storys or people who have just exaggerated on what actually happened? which ever, it will make a good movie
your right though we will never know the truth |

All the people who claim contact with Zozo are getting their inspiration from websites, TV, movies and forums where using the Ouija Board to contact Demons is discussed - Ouja Board etiquette has been in the public domain for over a hundred years.

That is a common suggestion but one that could be seen as flawed. Nobody claims that the planchette or other indicator moves by any other force other than that applied by the fingers in contact with it. This dictates that if a discarnate entity is determining the direction of movement, it is somehow able to assume partial control of one of the sitters' bodies.
If that is the case then it cannot be discounted that the spirit may be dependent upon the senses available to that body; sight being the essential one. If so, then the obscuring of the letters or blindflding of the sitters would prevent genuine operation of the indicator without exposing any fakery. |

There is no scientific evidence to suggest that there is ever any genuine operation of a Ouija Board.

Nobody's saying there is - only that your suggested test cannot be claimed to disprove it. |

It's by no means a scientifically valid test but it is a test that can be carried out in a typical Ouija scenario.

Didn't one of our members say he was going to do a Ouija Board sometime last year?
