Hey guys I just got some time to post a few pics I took around August. This is from Lost world caverns here in WV
http://www.lostworldcaverns.com/
While there last year I noticed some orbs in a few of there guest photos posted in the shop. So I made a point to try to get some my self this year. While there I tried to induce orbs with the flash. I thought it would be easy to debunk the orbs in the photos with all that moisture, I was wrong. Not a single orb with flash? The orbs I got were all with no flash, so much for that theory.
While looking through my photos for orbs I did notice one image that stood out easily and when I enhanced it I was amazed. This photo was taken when I was asking if anyone would like there picture taken to come on over.
You can see the original and the enhanced showing a massive amount of mist. At first I though it was my breath as it was 54 degrees down there, but then when I enhanced it I realized there was no way it was my breath LOL. This much fog should have been easily visible but was not. Even better, it the photo prior to this one there is zero fog or orb. I really did not expect this at all LOL.
Enjoy
The fullsized image made web ready in photoshop.

I can see that, but that may just be a trick on the mind. What really stinks it that this was just still photos and not video so we will never know exactly what this may have been or how fast it really managed to form and dissipate. That said, it is the best I have captured so far this year. |

Here is a great example from the same place, of light and shadows playing tricks. From a distacne this one was just way to good to be true LOL.
And zoomed in we can see it's just a natural formation that had just the right angles of lighting to make it look like a hooded screaming figure LOL. Light and shadow at least thats what I'm calling this one.

Had something happened in the past at these caverns?
That is quite a bit of "fog" that appears in the photo...but you didn't see it with your own eyes.
Awesome.
Great photos, thanks for sharing! |

Actually Buck among the two caverns we visited this one had no real history at all? It was discovered by a group of geology students who were lead to it by a farmer who told them about the hole he had been throwing his dead cows in for years. No evidence inside of human habitation or visits as it was only accessible by a hole a hundred feet above the cave floor. They did discover what they said were "cave bear" remains deep inside though. As for a real history it's hard to say there are countless miles of unexplored passageways down there, the basic tour only covers a well marked path.
YB- You are right, light and shadow are the #1 causes of a lot of apparitions IMO. |

Do you feel this "fog" just may be a natural occurrence with the air in the cave
and the camera 'caught' it?
It would be interesting if you could do some recording to see what you may pick up.

It is possible but I did not see any fog in that cave except near a water source about 300 yards away from this point. This was taken almost in the middle of the cave near a few structures with dim lighting. There was no flash used on this photo either, now that's a good and a bad thing. If I had used a flash I could have gotten far more detail out of the fog and I could pretty much tell if it's a real voluminous fog rather than something different. What's funny and a bit unnerving is that I had to be standing almost in this to be able to get this shot yet there was nothing there. There is another photo that does show fog near a pool of water but I ruled it out, even though it was not visible after I got to the spot simply because there was water there. It's a strange place IMO and next time I will take some meters and a video camera at least.
Good news is that today I got another volunteer for our team. A professional camera guy who said he would love to go on a hunt to do some documentation's. If we do I'll let you know, he wants to shoot the whole thing in HD LOL. |

Congratulations on your new volunteer!
And in HD to boot!
I figured as much it wouldn't have been a 'natural occurrence' with out you seeing it.
You stated you thought it was a strange place.
Did you or anyone in your group have any sort of feelings or such while you were in this unseen fog?
Wow, just think, what if you have found some kind of portal.
Be careful on your next expedition X.
An after thought... ....what if the fog is nothing more than the dead cows the farmer dumped in there. |

"Did you or anyone in your group have any sort of feelings or such while you were in this unseen fog?"
Nope just cold but thats normal in a cave.
"An after thought... ....what if the fog is nothing more than the dead cows the farmer dumped in there."
Poor dead cows. The story is that there were so many cow bodies the geology student landed waist deep in the remains.
I was thinking "cave bear" if that's what it really was that they found?
You just never know. |
