I posted this on almanac.com. It happened to me and I wanted to share it with you all. It concerns rainbows. Enjoy:
I have read that you can not see two things, a full circle rainbow and the end of a rainbow.
I have been wanting to post this for some time and I now have the time. I have seen both. Yes, YB defies science (this surprises you?) Ok, the stories:
Years ago I was in a unique position, the sun was behind me behind a hill, I was looking over a flat area and a light rain was falling. You know rainbows are circles of color well I saw what would be considered the center of the bullseye. The full circle of the center of a rainbow. No, didn't have a camera handy.
A few months back while coming home from work I was traveling north on the highway and saw the storm in front of me, the sun was behind and to the left of me, I saw a rainbow ahead in the storm clouds.
I passed under an underpass and in a field off to the left I saw the end of the rainbow at the tree line, not unusual. As I entered the rain I watched as the end of the rainbow came down into the field, extended up over the trees and across the sky to my right in front of me. I thought wow, I saw the impossible..
It was not over, as I went a little further the end of the rainbow traveled up to the road, came across the road right to the window of the car. Yup, I saw the end of the rainbow at my window, followed it across the road, the field, treeline and across the sky. No way to catch it on my cell phone cam due to safety concerns. (driving in the rain and all).
Yup, No pot of Gold at the end....or was there... At the end of this rainbow is my Gold colored Subaru Forester... Wooo whoooo.
Yup, I defied science again. I'm sure it was one of those freak occurrences but it did happen.
Cool eh? |

I did that this past summer YB, it was right in front of our car and the color was amazing, almost like a dream or special effect. Maybe the gold is the chance to feel that light, it's pretty rare or so I have been told. |

You know YB, if you did have a camera, I bet the picture would not be as beautiful as seeing it in person.
That would be something to see.
