Dream of being hung as a witch???

This is proberly my oddest dream I have had.

I walked briefly along a dirt path where it joined to a dirt road, as I looked up there was a woman hanging from a gallows. Her body was swinging back and forth in the wind, she had dark almost black hair that was about half way down her body & was wet and partly stuck covering over her face, her head was forward and slightly tilted to the right. Her dress was brown in colour and had lots of dirt and mud stains like she had been pulled along the ground, this also looked quite wet, also to mention her hands were tied in front of her with an old piece of rope. Her feet were pointed at the ground; again her feet were dirtied with mud.
I stopped in front of her and had a rather uneasy feeling and I thought oh god a witch.
This is where it got a bit freaky!!
As I went to hurry away she looked up at me, her face was white almost, again she had dirt around her face, and she had bright blue eyes. She also had a dribble of blood come from both eyes and her nose. She first of all laughed at me and started wriggling (the noose still round her neck, she then contorted her face giving me an almost snarl like impression, then all of a sudden it was me who was hanging by my neck. I thrashed about trying to loosen my hands from the rope, choking as I couldn't breathe as the noose became tighter & not being able to see as my hair was stuck over my face.
I awoke from my dream with this woman’s face giving me an evil smirk, her face seemed to vanish into a clock I had on the opposite side of my bedroom. I remember I laid in bed rubbing my neck as the dream felt rather real, although I had no pain.
That is my weird dream, still haven't figured out why I had it though.

Nats you said you had no pain around your neck but
did you by chance look to see if you had any marks?

No I didn't look at the time. I have had surgery to my neck in the past & I do get the odd twinge now and then in the area, but I don't think that would cause it....... Still haven't a clue what would cause such a weird dream.

I believe dreams are random thoughts thrown together. Could be your neck pain and belief in the paranormal just came together on night. My thoughts anyway.
