|

California-based therapist Gwen Dean noted 44 parallels between alleged alien abductions and Satanic ritual abuse. Both emerged as widespread phenomena in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and both often use hypnosis to recover lost or suppressed memories.
Furthermore, the scenarios and narratives offered by abductees and SRA victims feature many similar elements:
Both are typically said to begin when the experiencer is in their youth.
Both are said to involve entire families and to occur generationally.
The alien examination table that is reported is similar to the Satanic altar in those accounts.
Both phenomena feature a strong focus on genitals, rape, sexuality and breeding.
Witnesses often report that the events happen when they are in altered states of consciousness.
Both phenomena feature episodes of "missing time" when the events are said to occur, but of which the victim has no conscious memory. |

If you lookf or corrwlation, you will find it. Although to correlation is quite obvious and significant, this could be more to do with how the human mind works. Alters/tables are used in many rituals, even mundne tasks. I am using a table now that could be said to be like an alter, if you are looking for connections. Humans seem to have fixation with sex, and many things involve it directy(whether supression or indulgance), or symbolically. The altered state of consciousness could be due to a sleep like state where the person is dreaming, but they are almost conscious and convince themselves it is real. Missing time can also be explained by this. When you sleep, you are not aware of time passing. |

I remember when this theory made the rounds. At the times it was a desperate and perfect out for skeptics of alien abduction theory, then a funny thing happened it gained more ground and was sensationalized as a stand alone wide spread phenomena of course there was no real proof of some of the more published alleged abuses and soon it to was banished to the fringe categories and tabloids. I have met and talked with individuals who have had "abduction" experiences and can tell you that these people were not victims of satanists.
My personal favorite abduction explanation is of the pre-natal memories in which we are supposed to believe that abductees are only remembering there emergence from the womb (the doctors are the aliens in this theory). I think it's evident that data can be scewed to represent and mis-represent actual events by agenda oriented researchers. |

Good observation. But the research has not overwhelmingly suggested that abductions are merely the result of pre-natal recollections. Abduction scenarios have many and varied explanations. Data can indeed be skewed by those with agendas and points to prove but we have to examine ALL possibilities before we posit a credible conclusion.

Good point but it's also important to take time to look at all possibilities even if they are unpopular ones or contrary to a particular belief system. To look at someone who has had an alleged abduction experience, pat them on the head and say. "It's all right, it's all simply in your head." This is to me is unprofessional and nothing more than an easy way out. |
