In my opinion, I believe God wants us to be buried (1 Corinthians 15:35-55) It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies. What are your opinion in cremation? What would you choose? Thanks in advance Smile

I'm with god and want to be buried - my way of putting something back into the soil that provided me with so much.

But I don't believe in god.

Thanks for the replies. As time goes on, cremation may be a better choice for the environment as there is only so much space for the deceased to be placed peacefully. At the end of the day, the decision for many people of which to choose will more than likely be based on religious beliefs or financial related options

Cremation is not particularly good for the environment. Burial is greener.

I want to be Cremated. The Career I have been in for the past 19 years, we had a Funeral Director come to the Care home and talk about the Process of both being buried and Cremated. Very interesting stuff. We had a chance to go and see the whole process. I wish I had have done now. But at the time my Auntie who I was very close to hadent been dead for very long and It would have been to up setting for me to go and see the whole process.

A lady who I worked with went and watched it and after that she actully changed her will from Cremation to Burial. Due to the whole process of creamtion.

In your part of the world those are the only two acknowledged alternatives, and what's worse is that the terms don't refer primarily to religion.

Is there any reason to think they don't burn just as readily as anyone else?

What about all the energy required to get from quarry to headstone?

Basic burial - no coffin, no headstone and no vehicles.
