Celestial Light : according to belief, is the sacred light of all ages, The celestial light was but one of the seven precious gifts enjoyed by Adam before the fall and to be granted to man again only in the Messianic time. It is also the halo emanating from certain visions of a mystical nature. However it can only be observed by those who have lived ascetic lives, and when life has almost left the body. |

Koala, I wonder if that is what is seen in the NDEs? The 'light at the end of the tunnel'. During my car accident in 2002 I had such an experience, and saw I bright glowing gold-white light ibn the darkness. Rather than a 'tunnel'. But whether I moved towards it, or the other way round, I'm not sure. It may've just grown to surround me. There was also a voice (or voices) telling me verything would be OK. Shortly after I came round.
I'm not particularly religious - more 'spiritually inclined', I would say. And events in my life, over the last few years, have enhanced that view for me.

I was told by the paramedics that I'd been unconscious for about 40-45 minutes |

It was. Otherwise I'd not be typing this now. Unless there are computers in the afterlife! |
