Thanks guys,
I had him on me earlier, took my t shirt off and had him snuggled under my fleece for nearly an hour, the chairs aint that comfy especially when you have to be careful with his snorkel and sensor wires, but the pain was definatley worth it! |

Well, he has had a little turn,
Personally think he has tried to do too much, too soon and tired himself out.
He caught an infection and while trying to fight that, hasnt helped his breathing much, although as he is young, its not uncommon for one ailment to knock them for six amd set them back. Unfortunatley he has gone back on the ventilator to help him rest.
Was rather unsettled, but has had a peaceful night which is a relief to hear.
Causing mayhem as usual! He doesnt realise he is grounded till hes 18! |

Grounded till he's 18!
I'm sure after hearing that he'll straighten up his act!
Prayers still going out to little man George.
Hope you and Babs are taking care of yourselves as well.
I know this can wear you out mentally and physically.
(Our family just went through this with my nephews twins, they too were premature)
Thanks for the update. |

Its so tiring! Hope the twins are well.
The docs have given him a course of steroids to boost his lungs, as he has fought his infection, it was the perfect chance to start them and has passed the age where they would pose more risk to him.
He has improved slightly so heres hoping he is on the up again! |

Had a bad day yesterday.
Think he may have another infection , held off his steroids and feeds.
Didnt want to settle at all and was having a fight with the doctors. Changed his tubes and he eventually settled in the prone position. apparantley has had a peaceful day so far.
They must get grumpy with all the nurses and doctors poking and prodding, I know I would.
Hoping he doesnt have another infection and they can start the steroids again. |

A little delayed update:
Have decided to stop working with the aid of my doctor, and if I am signed off, it offers more job security when I am ready to return. Its so stressful having George in hospital and working while trying to find time to see him, but for now I only have him to worry about!
He has improved and is getting into a routine, although he still needs oxygen either threw his mask or 2 nasal prongs and there trying to ween him off the mask, after he does this, he will go from intensive care to special care, next step after this would be home!
Have some more pics but photobucket seems to be on a go slow, will get them posted asap.
Thanks everyone
Carl |
