I had some time so the day after Thanksgiving I dropped by a bookstore and took advantage of big book sale. I picked up a little work called "Picture Yourself Ghost Hunting". At first glance I thought it looked like something I could have written. I was wrong, I could have written and have written far better. If you are looking for a good Ghost hunting guide book, with tips and tricks to using equipment in the field, which by the way this one claims to be, this is not it.
The author spends most of his time defending how he was a "Paranormal Investigator" long before it was popular. OK so we get that, at least I do, I have been chasing the paranormal for over half my life now. I remember standing in a cemetery in the mid 1990s with a digital multimeter attached to an experimental dowsing rod LOL. I conducted Zener card experiments in High School at lunch (man the chicks love that stuff lol).
The point is this, whether you are into this field because you saw a program on TV or your interest predates those shows you are still looking for something. If you are looking for answers on proper techniques on investigating or using your equipment you will definitely want to find other sources for information or better still just ask your questions on a forum like this one.
So did I waste my money on this book? Nope it served to show me how little that the authors out there who are pretending to give us all the answers, really know. I suggest spending your money on a good book on this phenomena such as"Esp, Hunting's and Poltergeists: A Parapsychologist's Handbook" by (Loyd Auerbach. It has been in my library for years now and it is hard to beat. |
