I think there is a little bit of both. Some people make themselves see things and others really do. Example, if you keep saying you are going to kill someone, well one day you will. If you try finding a ghost, eventually you will see one either because you did or your mind wanted to so badly it made something up.
I think ghosts or spirits are real and that we can see them, in rare occasions for certain purposes. |

Sounds like the faith before seeing miracles parable there lou, but I must agree it probably is true. That must be why so many people are reluctant to believe because they have never experienced. |

If your awake and not on drugs then what you see is probably not imaginary. |

Flossy, I know what you mean. It was hard for me not to have a light on while my kids were growing up. Didn't want them to be afraid of the dark.
Now that they are out of the house, the light is back on.

When someone thinks they have seen a ghost it is probably most likely their imagination BUT there are ghosts and there ARE people who have seen them. |

They are real. But they reveal themselves, more than the opposite. |

The closest biblical example of a “haunting” is found in Mark 5:1-20. A legion of demons possessed a man and used the man to haunt a graveyard. There were no ghosts involved. It was a case of a normal person being controlled by demons to terrorize the people of that area. Demons only seek to “kill, steal, and destroy” (John 10:10). They will do anything within their power to deceive people, to lead people away from God. This is very likely the explanation of “ghostly” activity today. Whether it is called a ghost, a ghoul, or a poltergeist, if there is genuine evil spiritual activity occurring, it is the work of demons.

Sounds like a case of people who didn't understand mental problems interpreting someones mental problem as demonic possession. This carried on right until relatively recently when we started to gain a real insight into various mental illnesses.

Um...Caspar. I'm puzzled. Do you think they exist? Or not? Or haven't you decided which? Interesting, haunted. If everyone who said they would going to ''kill someone" actually did, then there would be a lot my psychos walking around As for ''finding a ghost", you don't. They "find" you... . Ghosts don't appear 'on command', despite what certain books/texts tell you. |

Ghosts, Spirits, Poltergeists - three types of phenomenon with supposedly unique and partially overlapping characteristics.
Do they all 'find us" - this question to Alex
