Had one when I was first married.
At the time I didn't realize you could buy crickets at the pet store.
So I would hunt in the garden at night with a flashlight looking for bugs for him.

It was a Tarantula. Just a small thing when it was found.
Had him for maybe 6 months or so then he died. |

shame you didnt know the breed name. mine are all tarantulars but their breeds are chillian rose, pink toe, red knee and white knee.males dont live very long about five or six years females live for ten to fifteen years but if tank humidity or temp or diet are not right they can die during a shed |

It was a Tarantula we found while camping.
I've seen the pink toe ones, they are pretty.
I know, you wouldn't normally think a spider is pretty would you? |

Look them up on the net, pretty interesting. There are even stories from Soldiers who have had encounters with them.
There are allot of myths about them, better to read up on the truth of these critters. |
I've found an intresting article 'bout the Camel spiders It's written in dutch so I won't post it here, but it says the spider you can see on the picture is not an Camel spider! The Camel spider looks very diffrent and can grow only to 12 cm (I don't now how many inch that is?)
The spiders (there are two in the picture) are of unknown origin uptill now! |

It is isn't it?
In the Southwest states of the US I've seen a "spider" similar to the ones in the photo.
They called them Vinegaroon Spiders.
It too is not a spider.
I've seen on YouTube some footage of both the Camel Spider and the Vinegaroon.
Interesting to say the least. |
