incubus and sucubus

i have wondered wether these spirits or whatever they are, perhaps have fallen in love with who they choose to do this to????

or have just took a shine to them, but yes, i haven't ruled out the possibility of what you suggest, because of other things i've mentioned before. :)

I believe the terms are applied to several different phenomena but in your example above, yes you could be right.

haven't been on for a while. hope you are not suggesting that crap movie is the 'inspiration' for the posts. i truly was trying to find out info to help not only my friends, but also others in the flats where i live, because it is f**king scary,ok? whatever it is hasnt gone, and i came on here looking for help and advice, and no, no no no no, that movie isnt anything like what these peeps have been experiencing. And, i am now not as sceptical myself about spirits, whatever, as these people and indeed others who have moved into the property since, have told the housing association that owns this building about what has been going on.

people are truly scared, and, sorry to have swore in the above paragraph, but, it took a lot of guts for me to even come to anyone, online or in person to tell about this, because there is always the fear of not being believed, laughed at, and/or treated like you are insane.

It isnt a case of mass hysteria in the block of flats either, as people are very reluctant to talk to 'newcomers' about what has been happening anyway.

i am truly sorry if i have misconstrued the context of how the posts read above this, but as it is the written word i can't help how i interpret what is written, but it does read to me like you think i am some saddo with nothing better to do with my time than watch a crap film and regurgitate bits out of it in the form of needing help, and just taking the p**s. never mind. whatever.

i have experienced this (old hag)myself and its very disturbing. the last time was about a year ago.
i have tried all sorts to stop it and so far the last method has worked.

I don't see how you took our comments as making light of your situation.

We commented on how your situation reminds us both of the movie Entity.
How both have to do with Incubus\Succubus.
No more than that.

We did not say that your experience mirrors that of this movie at all.

:( i'm sorry too. it is hard to tell sometimes in which context replies to posts are written :( plus, it is very stressful living here with this happening. so please accept my sincere apologies.

in one respect, i am sort of unable to be helped, as i simply cannot justify becoming religious just to rid myself (and others) in the flats of these, things. :) a lot of different sources say to believe in god/christ etc. but i just can't truthfully do that. i could pretend, but maybe you can't fool these things. i don't know. i'm just waiting to be rehoused, like everyone else in here.

Plus, there is a part of me, that, even though i am sensitive to 'spirits', presences or however you like to word it, i darent dabble around with things i know little about; it is one thing being sensitive, but another actually communicating and/or trying to get rid of it when i've never done anything like that in my life before.

i do think it possibly knows who is scared of it, and plays on this. and i will readily admit on here that i am frightened/anxious of it. Embarassed

Basically

An Incubus goes after VIRGIN women in their slumber hours, when the potential victim is half paralysed to the awake world.

A Succubus goes after VIRGIN Men.

Many reported cases of visition by these entities have resulted in either the men or women waking up soon after the disruebances happen and usually have an overwhelming want of sex with another human and so do normally lose their virginity and then hear no more of it. The want of losing their virginity is something mental which is brought on by the visitation sometimes mistaken for a dream.

Also, People reported visitation shortly after losing their virginity.

RELIGION plays no part of these visitations. I have read several books and have spoken to a few people who have reported the same occurances and some of them are christian, some are catholic, some are pagan some have no religion at all. If it is indeed a case of visitation by a Incubus or succubus then normally people only experience it once or twice. The earliest documented in detail cases can go back as far as 9th century, there were many reported incidences from 10th century to 15th century Europe. from the 15th Century on, Science tried to prove that it is just a case of disturbed sleep but to many people, myself included, I believe that they do exist

And incase a few of you wonder as to why I know some of this what may be deemed as pointless information, most of you know I am a writer and have written several gothic stories and poems that are based around the activities of the Incubus

I can recommend a book on nightmares called The Terror That Comes in the Night by David J. Hufford.

As I understand it the original meaning of "nightmare" is not a bad dream, but an incubus / sucubus / old hag attack.

One aspect of this that seems to be less well covered is that some locations seem to be linked to the nightmare experience. At these locations someone who has not previously suffered a nightmare may have one leading perhaps to the possibility that something at that location could affect a non nightmare sufferer in such a way that they'd suffer a nightmare.
