AN ASTRAL PROJECTOR IN MY FAMILY

From the postings so far I've shown that paranormal experiences run not just in my family. But also my brother-in-law's. The most remarkable member is his sister, who is an artist.

She can apparently create 'Out of Body Experiences' while fully awake. And at will. This is called 'Astral Projection' or 'Astral Travel'. He says her Astral Body is visible to others as a 'real person'. And that she can 'project herself' to people in a different location.

This phenomenon is akin to a ‘Crisis Ghost’. There have been reports of people ‘appearing’ to relatives or loved ones in times of danger. It is widely believed that this is the ‘subconscious spirit’ trying to alert the other person of what has, or what is about to happen, to them.

The most famous case happened on 22 June 1893 when the HMS Camperdown fatally collided with the HMS Victoria off the coast of Syria. The Victoria, under Vice-Admiral Sir George Tyron, was rammed by the Camperdown. The cause had been a rather odd set of instructions given by Tryon.

After the collision other ships in the convoy launched rescue boats. But Tryon refused assistance, saying he would try and beach his ship.

Around the time of impact, Lady Tyron was having a dinner party in their London home. Suddenly silence fell as the guests witnessed Sir George, in full dress uniform, calmly walk through the room. He then opened a door and vanished!

Astral projection and OBEs involve the projection of the sub-consciousness mind. When we talk about the soul body projecting to the astral plane, we're not talking about the entire spiritual being (not the entire soul), but rather the mind or consciousness of the soul. You might think of it like this: You maybe sitting in a meeting or in class and you become bored. Your physical body remains in the seat, but your conscious mind wanders outside into the warm spring sunshine. You body has not moved, just your mind.

Astral Projection and OBEs are doing the same thing but on a spiritual level. Your soul isn't moving out of the body, but your soul's mind is moving outward and upward to the astral plane. From this perspective, you can see how your sub-conscious mind is very light and able to lift upward out of the physical being in an effortless manner.

I find your post very thought-provoking, Julie. The subconscious is very powerful, and I don't think we'll ever fully realise or appreciate what its capabilities are. Or utilise its full potential. I mean we use so little of the brain that God [or evolution, depending on your viewpoint] gave us. What does the other 90% [or is it 95%] do??

Having also read Henut's post about the Ancient Egyptian views on the human spirit and psyche, could they have been right to some degree? If so, then it's a lot more complicated than we thought Exclamation
