Hey
I have been looking at many different sites just to be nosey and read about using a sound enhancer.. I looked on ebay and saw "Sonic Super Ear Hearing Amplifier / Enhancer" that can enhance sound by up to 50db indoors and out... Does anyone use one ? or reckomend using one on investigations ?

The problem with the miracle ear type devices is that the devices tend to have poor frequency response. They produce a lot of hiss as they are more or less just overdriving the audio. It's hard to get much from them without serious external filtration. With a good audio program you can amplify a typical digital audio file so there is no real need for amplifier devices. If you want to find a good EVP device find a recorder that records in a frequency range of at least 20Hz to 20,000Hz. |
