I see groups of open minded paranormal investigators walking about with no real clue of what they are looking for. So I produce a company which teachers known investigation methods and informs about what gear works and what gear doesn't, then I get those people at low cost into big apparantly haunted venues like Blue John Caverns and the Castle Hotel in Castleton.
Then I produce as near to real an investigation as possible for those people to get involved with and to learn hands on methods of anomaly documentation. I supply thousands of pounds worth of relevant equipment and check all documentation, time lines and equipment readings post investigation. Then I produce an entertaining DVD of the entire event and any odd activity recorded or documented. I pay liability insurance and update equipment etc etc.
All at a fraction of the price other compnays charge.
So Im just in it for the money am I? On an average event I make £40. Thats for 4 days work and that doesn't include the cost of full colour posters and news paper adds. I do this because too many people are talking crap about the subject and peolpe aint got a clue what its realy about! So I don't just sit on a computer and talk about it, I pro actively get off my arse and help people! Hauntastic IS different from your average scare company. I don't even use psychic mediums, I can't prove what they are doing is real.
I can't prove that what we are documenting id real, but a lot of it is down to personal experience and we make the dvd to give them the oppertunity to check things out after the event and to come to ther own conclusions. I don't steal money from people. I work hard for very little. Ie, £30 per ticket for 10 people = £300. £150 to the venue, staff £20 each =£60. then fuel, etc etc...I end up with £40 average. I only take 10 people so I can give them personal information and keep the environment clear of noise and movement polution.
Take it as you will sir. I sleep with a good consience.
I RUN THESE EVENTS TO ENPOWER PEOPLE, NOT TO STEAL THERE MONEY.
Ive even set up the Castleton Ghost Tours ! I get nothing for that and it coast me £400 to set up.
Its a Pro-guide in Castleton who takes people aroung the village and tells them scary ghost storys and all about the nasty scary things that have happened there!
The tour guide takes ALL the money, I get nothing from it. Its my way of putting something back into Castleton.
It helps the bars, the shops, the cafe's, the camp sites and people love a good ghost story. All for nothing to me.
Yours Iain. |
