That's my answer, I told you it would all just lead to wild speculation just like any other aspect of this field. Without real answers, confirmation, tangible measurable proof these experiences only create more and more speculation. There were no ships, no alien beings, all of this occurred in a state of consciousness far removed from the physical. It did affect my life in a greT way and although it is a mystery to me it pointed me in tje direction to where I am today. Of course that is also just speculation.

I understand mrx - it did just confirm for you that there is more than meets the eye - it killed the atheist in you?

Did you not find any answers from these experiences? Did the beings you encountered not share anything of worth?

Wow this is an amazing thread.

Mr X I appreciate that you are not entirely comfortable discussing this subject fully but I really would love to hear more of your experiences.

OBE is something that I have never tried - more out of fear than anything else.

I always wondered if you were a novice and you met someone else whilst travelling would you be vulnerable to attack or even struggle to return to your body? Or could someone/something enter your empty body?

Carebear, there are beliefs that one can either loose his or her way back to the body or that something else may dive in and posibky posses the traveler. Well naturally if anyone ever did get blocked from re entering they could never tell us either way. I dont see any real evidence of death occurring during one of these experiences, likely the experiencer would simply drift into another brain wave pattern and simply fall asleep or wake up. My own experience did give me answers, but those answers were meant for me. As a researcher and experiencer I have to maintain a balanced unbiased approach to all paranormal phenomena. What I know as fact I must have proof of, what I believe however is simply what I believe without hard proof. It may be based on theory, conjecture, speculation or a bad dream so as such it can not be presented as fact and I see a lot such experiencers who do in fact report their experiences as a matter of fact which IMO is not helping anything.

Will you be sharing the knolage of how to obtain an OBE?
Would you be able to pop a guide in here sometime detailing techniques of how to obtain OBE in/out of this state and how not to get stuck, also how to know you are actually in an OBE rather than just having a nap.

I never doubted that, you see that's a simple matter of faith.
But in this field ghost, ufos etc you need more than faith and mere belief systems in order to state something as fact, that's why I'm not taking any absolute stands on what may or may not be the root cause, that's just my opinion and should not middlead or lead anyone else into rethinking his or her belief system(s).

but surely at some point in the future whether it be in 10 years time and aliens appear and have a better understanding of what everything in the universe is about and a better understanding of life and what happens when we die and give us all their knowledge, or Jesus's second coming, or in 1000s of years time through evolution - at some point the entire human race will have the exact same belief system

a person who has investigated a subject like this (obe) should be willing to go into detail about all aspects of what they learned and their experiences from their own point of view - and of course some people will believe everything without question, others like DB will say you are deluded, and some like me will try to decipher useful knowledge - and they shouldn't be afraid of misleading any weak minded fools

if I had studied and practiced this for 25 years and thought I had discovered unknown knowledge I would share it, but I guess opinions vary

DB respects my opinion(s) and I his. In this field a sceptic can be a very good friend and a great ally as a future researcher you should take that as something I have learned in those 25 years. The one greatest thing I leaned is that there are no experts and until we stop in-fighting and trying to prove our theory as the only possible explanation then we will learn nothing. All possibilities can be considered but if there is little to no proof then let's not dwell on it to long no matter how well we may like a particular researcher or author etc.
