More subjective opinion, factual errors and pseudoscience being passed off as science in order to sell a device that's about as much use for detecting ghosts as a George Foreman Grill.

And they have not got the frequency correct the Schumann resonance is between 3 & 60hz with the largest peak, the actual fundamental frequency being at 7.83hz. And it is produced mainly by lightning strikes, not the earth & it has nothing to do with ghosts or anything but the conductivity of the earth's surface & the ionosphere & the lack of it in the air....Oh & thats a very simple capacitor & what does a capacitor do??? It holds a charge & passes it in one direction..
The use of 7.8hz is because a radio wave travels at 300,000 km per second & this divided by the frequency 7.8 hz is the circumference of the earth, thus the earth has a resonance in free space, not here on earth of 7.8hz, to work out the wavelength of the earth you need to know it's velocity factor which will be lower, thus the wavelength will be shorter & also need to work out peak times for the estimated 100 lightning strikes per second that cause the effect & take into account alterations in the outer atmospheres ionisation caused by solar etc activity & thus the electrical value of that atmosphere..This alters the frequency of the fundamental & thus the wave length in both free space & in the real world. |

A capacitor is two conductive surfaces separated by a non conductive area. In commercial capacitors this can be air, glass or paper.
It is in effect a small battery, but it cannot produce new electrons only store & pass them in one direction.
The value of a capacitor is worked out from the size of the two conductive plates & the size resistance value of the insulator between them.
Soil has a conductive value that varies with soil type & moisture levels & the ionosphere constantly changes as it is effected by solar activity & some levels of the atmosphere are effected to the extent that they diminish & even disappear with night & season changes. |
