Well it's impossible to tell whether she did or didn't - we don't know if she is mentally stable, and if she is whether she just fabricated the story or not. Either way it was a good creepy story.

I googled black eyed kids and there are more stories out there. Wish i hadnt!! The first reported sighting is only as far back as 1997 and it was by a reporter. He claimed that two children had asked for a lift home from the cinema and that they made him feel very uneasy. They had pitch black eyes. What has been mentioned on some forums is that these children always need to be invited in. This leads to many believing that they are vampires!

I think this phenomenon has been around for a long time - since the early 80's at least. The main contention is that they are the result of alien/human hybridisation programmes but IMO that's just BS with absolutely no evidential support other than anecdotes from unverifiable sources.
I know of cases where people have gone out wearing black contact lenses and that may fuel some reports but I think on the whole there's nothing behind any of it.

I think if I came home to black eyed kids standing in my front yard I would go anywhere but there.

Not straight into the house where you could be cornered.

But that's me. :)
