Because I like it DB, the previus comment was a joke.

Don't you like it?

I was thinking DB that your always on about forums needing debunkers and all the rest ect but I think different. I think that mixing all the types is why these arguments and disagreements happen in the first place.

It would be nice to discuse ET/paranormal with like minded freinds without having to prove anything or be insulted.

A mixed forum is a timebomb thats just waiting to go off.
I have seen this first hand.
Also imagin joining a Raleigh bike forum and telling all the members why Raleigh are not as good as Triumph, i'm sure they would be pretty anoyed.

Would it not be better to discuss the paranormal not existing with like minded freinds or is it the argument you enjoy pursuing?
Hope this doesn't offend.

I've never said forums need debunkers. You're confusing debunking with healthy scepticism - look them up on Google.

But what happens to a forum where debate is stifled and only those that agree with the founder and Mods are allowed? Wink

Didn't you try that with your own forum? And where have you been insulted - by me?.

You should get yourself along to
http://www.alien-ufos.com/
and you'll see a very successful forum where people with all kinds of beliefs from the exotic to the sceptical engage in stimulating debate that fosters mutual understanding - where Mods don't go banning people who disagree with the ET hypothesis and where sceptics are allowed to question all kinds of irrational claims.
I'm on there and so is Cactus along with people from all over the world who've experienced UFOs and alien encounters.

Discussing the paranormal is not quite as black and white as comparing the various features, benefits and performance parameters of bicycles AgentScott Rolling Eyes People don't misperceive brakes or take vague photographs of handlebars and claim they're wheels Very Happy

What are you trying to say here AgentScott?. I don't want to discuss the paranormal with other sceptics for the same reason I don't want to discuss it with die hard believers....why?.
Because I want my opinions challenged, I want to be proven wrong and I want to understand about people's experiences - to get an insight into their mindset and why they see what they claim they see. Who knows, I may find out that I'm totally wrong by being open minded and waiting for more compelling evidence but I won't get that from either end of the paranormal spectrum. Furthermore, I don't argue with people, I discuss and rationalise using facts, logic and known science. I don't make massive jumps to totally unfounded conclusions and make dead end statements like 'I know what I saw'.
Hope this doesn't offend Very Happy

I'm off to Church now to rant at the congregation and tell them they're all wrong Laughing
