Why do the dead have to ask questions of the living via a third party that often asks for payment in order to tell the living about mostly trivial details they already know?.

isnt that usually the other way round
the living asking questions from the dead?
the payment side of it is unfortunate, some do make a lot of money out of it |

Example:
Medium: He's showing me a red coat, what's the significance of a red coat?.
Sitter: That was his favourite coat, his red leather jacket.
Medium: Yes, that's what he's telling me.

But that is not the dead asking the question. |

Have you ever been approached by someone purporting to have a message or question for you from a deceased person? |

It's a hypothetical Cactus based on the methods of the bogus mediums. By showing the red coat the 'dead person' is wanting the sitter to verify the connection to himself.

But that is not the dead asking the question. |

we are not all like that and i for one do not ask questions i give what i am told and if you cant take it i leave it and move on to some other point the spirit are telling me as it can be that i am interpreting it wrong and they manage to show me in a better way during the reading, there are so many out there who have become very wealthy and this i see as wrong as charging the amount they do is not right as people who cant afford it dont get the help just because they have no money , i only ask for petrol money if asked to go anywhere far from me as i am a mum of 4 who has little income and i dont drive so have to ask a friend to take me..all the readings i do i will do of my free time and is no one ever told no they cant have a reading for not being able to pay my petrol .
i hate to see the mediums of today ask stupid questions in a reading as it makes us all look stupid and there is no need for it .
i link in asking spirit to show me something the person can accept and i go from there..evidence first is my rule and if i get nothing then im honest i get nothing . |

No but I've put myself in situations where that was a distinct possibility.

In order to be able to debunk the process, I'm surprised you didn't let it happen. |

No not to debunk. I don't debunk. When I attended spiritualist church meetings and group readings by mediums I was more a believer than a sceptic.

Maybe you don't know the difference between a debunker and a sceptic?

I see a sceptic as one who debunks to their own satisfaction but remains silent. |
