You might or may not remember me on here but I was an infrequent poster back in 2011 when the forum was much more busy. I still visit the site to see if there have yet been any improvements but it doesn’t seem like that and I feel sorry for moderator Flossy who’s been here more recently seeming disappointed. As someone who is a member on quite a few forum boards I do have answers to why nobody is coming here anymore and have come on here just to help. I did show this forum to a place where they are an expert on forums a couple of years ago and they told me that this forum is outdated and needs lots of improvements doing which is why they think people have stopped coming here. Then I have got my own thoughts as to why it has happened which I will explain in 5 steps. This is happening to a lot of forums and not just on here.

1.Back in 2000s the internet was growing fast and expanding with a lot of new website been set up. Many forums were then created just like here. You can say they all began with a very small group of 2 to 3 people that had an interest and wanted to show it to the world on the internet. So they would set up a forum which was for anyone that had a particular interest. Here for example would have started off with about 2 admins that were into the paranormal world as I believe it was set up around 2005. The forums started to grow as from there.

2.By early 2010s this forum was doing great and this remarked the peak of formainia with more and more people joining. Let’s say you’re a teenager at school or in college and are interested in the paranormal world but nobody in your class is interested. You then browse the web and come across this forum and want to join where you can interact with people that have similar interests. Back in 2011 this seemed like nothing that had been ever done before and it was great and there was a constant flow of great communication as well. I joined back in 2011 after finding it on Google search to discuss about a paranormal experience my grandma kept and still keeps going on about that she had as a nurse working in a hospital years ago.

3.As there are so many people joining this is where moderators have come in handy as they can watch everybody leaving the admins to do more important things. Therefor Flossy, Bitterbuck and YB were nominated to be moderators on here.

4.However by 2015 the forum was going to the dogs so why was this?

5.So one thing that you must know is that the internet is not the same place as it was back in 2011 and browsing has become more stressful with there been stuff such as accepting cookies and prove you are human every time you go onto a new website. Also by the mid 2010s lots of people would start getting into arguments on many forums across the internet and not agreeing with things but the main reason for the downfall is that people have just simply moved on. Let’s say you were 16 back in 2011 as the fact that I was 21. Now you’d be in your 30s and probably have a family and no time to be bothering with these forums like you did as a teenager or young adult still living in your parents house. Also the new generation of young people seem to be into their Tik Tok and mobile apps rather than browse the internet like my generation did.

Hope I’m not been too harsh here. As been said in quite a few threads by Flossy it would be good to see this forum take off again and become like it was back in 2011 but like Cactus said I doubt it as times have moved on unfortunately.

Hi Jonathan. Your statement makes alot of sense. We lost some really awesome folks here.It would be grand if this forum came back to life. Good to see you here.Maybe we can get some life back on here. Fingers crossed. Smile
