Hi everyone,
I'm a French student writing an assignment about ghost tours & haunted castles tours in UK.
Could you answer these questions for my survey? This would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!
1) Why are you interested in ghost tours, haunted castles, etc...? What do you expect when you are on a ghost tour?
2) Would you visit these places (for example haunted castles) if there wasn't any "strange" phenomenon?
3) Do you think it's better to go visit these places by yourself or book tickets from a tour operator? |

1) Why are you interested in ghost tours, haunted castles, etc...? What do you expect when you are on a ghost tour?
I mainy attend ghost tours in haunted castles, mansions etc not because of the ghost hunting aspect and not even for the guided commentary as chances are I actually have done more research than the tour operators to be honest, But i go to take advantage of being able to visit the propertys in out of hours. Ghost tours and usually held when the places are closed to the rest of the public and that gives me more of a chance to reflect on where i am and visit at night. When any hopeful activity is more likely to happen.
2) Would you visit these places (for example haunted castles) if there wasn't any "strange" phenomenon?
I do visit these places even if there are no reported phenomenon as everyone is different, everyones senses different things and everyone has different abilities. I myself have a sort of skill where I put myself into a sort of day dream / self hypnosis if you will where i can visual past events and see how things would have worked.
3) Do you think it's better to go visit these places by yourself or book tickets from a tour operator?
It would be more ideal for myself to be able to go alone to these places but chances are slim, Not many places of interest would open to just accomodate one person etc. I would rather go and spend time on my own just so that no one could cloud my vision. I hate to hear people say, did you hear that or did you see that because everyone joins in thinking they too heard something or saw something, I prefer to visit alone to make my own judgements |

If it helps, I'd add that the most interesting paranormal experiences i've had have been in lesser known places, whereas the famously haunted ones have generally been disappointing. |
