I wish I could say i dont believe in ghosts. But unfortuanately (to steal a line from a cheesy movie) they believe in me. When i was seven, my grandparents lived in this house in Atlanta. Well my dad and my stepmom lived their for about a week while they looked for a new apartment. So i was staying with them for a couple of days when i passed the basement door wide open. I was looking for my dad's old stuff i guess, so i went down a few steps. Then the freakiness started, when i was at the third or fourth step the light bulb fell from the ceiling, and the door slammed shut but did not lock behind me. i ran up to the door to get it open but it barely budged. I of course freaked out, and yelled fer my dad. Then i fell. Or rather was pushed, all i remember is flying through the air and hitting the ground at the bottom of the staircase. Funny thing is, i didn't hit a single step on the way down. Top of the stairs to the bottom of the stairs hitting nothing in between. My dad (who freaked out when i screamed) was struggling at the door while i sat alone in the dark, too afraid to move.(I'm now mildly claustrophobic now :D ) I dont remember too much after that. My dad tells me that he kicked down the door and ran and got me. I surprisingly wasn't hurt much by the fall, just a bruise on my should and hip. A few years later i hear a story on how this really violent guy commited suicide in that basement. My dad says he still hates to wash laundry after having to in that basement, he said "You've got the feeling of being watched, and its not like you spin in circles not knowing where that person is, in this one corner it always felt like some one was standing there." If anyone has had anywhere near this kind of episode send me an email Thanks |

I would be afraid of closed dark spaces too if that happed to me. I've had doors slam on me in the house I lived in as a child, but I was never physically abused by a ghost. SCARY!!!

jimmie, when the doors would slam, did you fell any cold drafts?
Or sense something there?

wow, that type of experience is very shocking and bizare. Did you have any recent events or occurences such as family deaths, accidents, or something out of the ordinary the months before this incident occured? That might give us more insight into why you had this encounter. Thanks for sharing it with us. |

You should stay out of the basement,if a violent man commited suicide and is hurting you,it's a negitive ghost. Now,get a tape recorder, recorder, ect. and you might have to go into the basement and ask it questions. If your battery suddenly gets drained then there is a presence there.Listen to the recordings and see if he answered your questions. |

I must say, If I had the money I would demolish that house and any other house that had previously been a spot for murder or suicide, it changes that place and is never the same |

I agree that you should stay away from that basement and away from that house if at all possible. |
