Unfortunatly, you can't visit this site as it's private flats now.
Years ago, my dad used to get his boots made up by a specialist that made boots for people with disabilities.
He'd converted a large early victorian house into his workshop. A very creepy place, and it always smelt of cigerette smoke, leather, and machine oil.
The place still had victorian tiled floors, victorian office desks and chairs, but most of the rooms were filed with leather off cuts, and big boot making machines and pornagraphic calenders LOL. The entrance hall still had old tiles on the floor, and meat hooks in the cellar as well as a creepy windy staircase.
Anyway, we went to collect my dads boots one day, and the owner (derek) said he'd had a bad night. He was called by the police in the early hours of the morning because the neighbour who lived in the joining property said he could hear yelling coming from the building. He went out puzzled as to why Derek the owner would still be working till that time of the morning. He went to knock on the door, and could see movement inside the building and a dim light, and heard someone talking. He knew something was wrong, phoned the police thinking it could be burglars, and waited for them. He saw no-one leave the house, and when the police turned up, they checked the building and found no sign of entry, and no-one in the house.
Quite sometime later, something strange happened again. Derek turned up for work, and found the back door window had been broken....from the inside. Nothing had been taken, the door was locked, and nothing had been touched, and there was nothing laying on the floor to suggest anything had been thrown through it.
I remember that place so well. The inside was so gloomy. It was like something from a Jack the ripper movie. My brother once asked to use the toilet, and would come running down afterwards. He told me years later he had a feeling of someone standing behind him.
Weird. |

I wonder if the people who live in the flats have any strange occurrences?
That feeling of someone behind you is very unnerving. |
