                                | I read the book The Amityville Horror years ago, watched the film and was pretty freaked by this so called true story. Fast forward and we, not so long ago had a documentary on TV claiming that the hauntings may have been fake.

Would a family really go to such lengths convincing the public and media of a haunting, when in reality it's not true?

                                | The house still exists, after all it was all a hoax. People who live there now say all is quiet except for those who didn't get the memo about the hoax. | |

                                | A lot of supposed commercial places such as pubs, bars and restaurants that are reputed to be haunted make me wonder if they are fabricated stories purely to bring in the custom or maybe built on one genuine occurrence and then just exploited and built upon continually for years to come. It brings in the bucks there is no doubt of that and that is why this field is constantly a challenged one.
